So I stuck to shaving, but that came with its own problems: razor burn, constant upkeep, and skin irritation that wasn’t worth the effort.
That’s when I started looking into waxing again. I asked around, reached out to salons, and even tried services myself to find the best waxing salons in Vancouver.
If you’re like me and want a smoother alternative to shaving, these are the spots that I found won’t give me (and you) waxing PTSD!
How much does it cost to get waxed in Vancouver?
It costs at least 10 CAD to get basic waxing services done in Vancouver. This is just an estimate. The actual cost will depend on the waxing salon, the area being waxed, and other factors.
1. WAXMI Waxing Boutique

Waxmi’s owner, Wency Cai, has created a boutique female-exclusive salon that is as luxurious as the waxing itself.
Waxmi has a complimentary beverage station, two treatment rooms, and a selection of goodies and amenities to ensure your comfort.
Their signature service is Brazilian waxing, and they offer several different styles: Brazilian (for the first visit to Waxmi), Brazilian (for maintenance), and Basic Bikini. There are also both Skinny French and Classic French in the options.
I like that they use a gentle, green, cream-based wax specially formulated for the most sensitive body parts. The wax easily wraps around the hair and lifts it from the skin. They use this for bikini waxing only, which is what I got this time.
But, for all other waxing, they use their pink cream-based wax. This wax creates a soft texture that glides easily onto the skin.
Customers loved that regardless of which wax they got, they left without any major pains, and they were out of the salon in under an hour.
The only thing is that Waxmi requires a card on file to book an appointment. So, if you’re a cash-only kind of person, this might not be the place for you.

She will remind you too of your appointment so you wouldn’t get charged with cancellation. She is very understanding and I feel very safe and comfortable whenever I come in. I would recommend her to anyone I know. Her space is very beautiful, clean, and calming too. Every time I come in I know the job gets done very well and she makes sure you are always comfortable. It’s always a great experience and if you’re new to waxing she is very good in making sure you are okay, informed of what she’s doing, and aftercare. It’s hard to find the best service at a reasonable cost and I’m so glad I found Wency. I’m never going to switch and I wish people would know more about this business. The Body Politik creates a body-positive and queer/trans-friendly space. I really love that they respect pronouns and avoid negative body talk. Plus, they price services based on anatomy rather than gender.
They specialize in waxing and laser hair removal, especially Brazilian waxing and other intimate areas. Basically, wherever you’ve got hair, they can wax it.
I like that they have a no-nonsense approach to client education. They give you all the details on the waxing process before doing anything.
Plus, I love that they offer a Bushbalm Hydrogel Vajacial add-on for those with sensitive skin. It’s a quick cleanse followed by a 15-minute hydrogel mask to soothe and treat your freshly waxed skin.
You even get a relaxing hand massage while the mask does its thing.
One thing that stood out to me was their waxing memberships. You are billed monthly and receive a complimentary extra small area each month, 15% off other services, and 10% off products. Any unused credits also roll over and never expire.
However, the membership credits are non-refundable and non-transferable, and it’s a 6-month commitment. Also, they’re 19+ only.
Carmen is fast but meticulous
“This month marks 9 years of Brazilians with Carmen—my longest “pants-off” relationship, and truly the most dependable one! Even after moving away last year, I still plan my waxing schedule around visits home because no one compares. Carmen is fast but meticulous, makes you laugh when you’d usually be wincing, and somehow turns a Brazilian into a catch-up session with a good friend. She offers one of the safest, most welcoming spaces I’ve ever been in. On top of excellent service, she carries the best products. I don’t write many reviews, but after 9 years it was about time I did.”

Sublime Studio is led by Rav, a certified medical aesthetician with over 15 years of experience. They specialize in Brazilian waxing, laser hair removal, and men’s grooming. They also do cosmetic enhancements.
For Brazilian waxing, I appreciate that they stay true to their promise of a fast and efficient session. I was in and out within 30 minutes, and my hair took over 4 weeks to start growing back.
Others I spoke to love that the technicians use advanced techniques and high-quality wax to minimize discomfort. Plus, they follow strict sanitation protocols, like changing their gloves and not reusing wax strips.
Many of their male customers love that they can come here for a fresh touch-up too. Their male waxing services help remove or thin hair on the chest, back, shoulders, arms, and legs.
But for all the appointments, Sublime Studio requires 24 hours’ notice for cancellations. If you are late, you may not get serviced and be forced to reschedule.

Ashlene, the owner of Ashlene Laser & Wax Studio, is a certified expert in all things aesthetics, but her true expertise is with Brazilian waxing.
I appreciate how easy it is to book an appointment with her. She offers 24/7 online appointment scheduling. No need to call or email – just pick a time and you’re set.
What stood out to me was the attention to detail. I love that Ashlene uses high-grade wax with essential oils.
Apparently, the essential oils are supposed to help reduce pain in those sensitive areas. Many people I spoke to confirmed that it definitely does help.
She also offers a bunch of different Brazilian styles, from the traditional “everything off” to the “Frazilian” (which leaves a wide triangle) and the “French Bikini” (which cuts in deeper on the sides).
They also offer a special discount for first-timers, which can save a few bucks.
Beyond Brazilians, they offer a full range of waxing services for pretty much any part of your body. And if you’re looking for more than just waxing, they also do lash lifts, massages, and piercings. They even offer teeth whitening too!
However, their shop can get quite busy. So, expect a slight wait of up to 30 minutes.
Clean, professional, and uses the right wax

Stripped Wax Co. has two types of wax: their ICONIC Cream Wax and hard wax. Their cream wax has a low melting temperature and is gentle on the skin. Whereas their hard wax is recommended for sensitive skin and coarse hair.
One thing I love is that their signature ICONIC Waxing System is a 3-step process designed to be effective yet super gentle on the skin. When I got a full leg waxing, I liked how they used cotton strips and the cool feel of their cream wax on my skin.
They offer a wide range of services, including bikini, French bikini, Brazilian, and thong styles.
I really love their buy-more-save-more packs, like their 3 for $150 Brazilian wax package. I think this is great because it saves you money in the long run, and it encourages you to stay consistent with your waxing schedule.
Just note that wax pack purchases are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Also, you need to give at least 24 hours’ notice for any changes to your appointment. If you cancel within 4 hours or fail to show, you’ll be charged a 20% late-cancel/no-show fee.

“Gabrielle was amazing! The process was seamless and fast, and I dared to say even painless for a French wax. I wasn’t ready yet to try this in Vancouver, but after visiting her a couple of times, I can’t recommend it enough.
