But choosing blinds? Not always easy. Just last year, I set out to find the perfect window blinds for my living room. As it turns out, some blinds are trickier to install than IKEA furniture with a missing instruction manual.
To avoid another epic fail, I did my research around town and got some help from the team finding the best blind companies in all of Vancouver. Greystone Blinds offers gorgeous, high-quality window treatments with expert service to match. From what we noticed, Greystone Blinds has blinds in every style imaginable—from classic roller shades to modern zebra shades.
We loved that they have a good variety of eco-friendly materials, from light-filtering sheers to blackout options, perfect for those who like their bedroom as dark as a batcave.
While the quality is there, be prepared to shell out some serious cash. Our friends got a quote for a few rooms, and let’s just say they had to take a deep breath before saying yes.
Despite the prices, they told us the staff at Greystone helped them figure out which blinds were best for them after patiently listening to the look and function they were going for.
When it came to the installation process itself, from what we were told, the process was a bit bumpy. The installer was a bit late, and there was a minor hiccup with one of the blinds that needed to be reordered. But hey, at least they have that five-year warranty!

Our first impression with Civic Blinds wasn’t ideal. Getting an online quote seemed more convenient at first than getting an in-person consultation, yet it took them over a week to get back to us via phone to even arrange a free quote.
From there, though, it was mostly smooth. When we actually got a quote and consultation, we were blown away by their massive selection of blinds. These ranged from classic venetians to sleek roller shades and even trendy motorized options.
And not once were we pressured to go for the most expensive option, which was a breath of fresh air.
However, the one thing that wasn’t ideal was the wait time. Once we finalized the order, it took a few weeks longer than expected for the blinds to arrive. This could have been due to supply chain issues or the specific blind type we chose.
Despite this, the installation itself was quick, and the installers were efficient, and cleaned up after themselves. And the custom-sized blinds actually matched our specified measurements.

One of the best things about the salespeople at Lux Blinds is that they aren’t just pushing products. They seem genuinely interested in their client’s needs.
From what we observed, they spent a good chunk of time walking their customers through different blind options, materials, and functionalities. Whether you’re craving classic wood tones or modern motorized options, they have something for every taste and budget.
Many of the people we spoke with found their initial quotes to be reasonable. However, some also said there were a few additional charges that weren’t initially mentioned, like a custom cut fee (we ourselves didn’t get this when we tested them).
While our opinion is that their prices aren’t outrageous, we think a bit more upfront transparency on potential add-on fees would be better. It would certainly add the cherry on top to their current proposition, which is meticulous and considerate service.

When we at Waterview Vancouver used Comfort Blinds & Screens to install motorized shades to give our office a refresh, we liked how they didn’t just try to convince us to buy blinds right off the phone.
Instead, they came to our office, assessed our window needs, and helped us choose the perfect style to complement our existing décor.
We also liked how they have a wide range of options, from honeycomb shades for insulation to roller shades for a sleek look. And they even deal with Hunter Douglas blinds and use Somfy motors.
For us, this is a plus. Why? Well, having the ability to control your blinds with a remote or even integrate them with a smart home system is a game-changer for convenience!
The one thing we didn’t like was how long we had to wait for installation—it took around 6 weeks for them to come back to us. This could have been due to the type of blinds we chose, but still, we would have preferred better communication as this was a little inconvenient.

The showroom itself was like stepping into a world of design inspiration. We loved being able to see and touch the different materials firsthand. It makes it so much easier to visualize how the window treatments would look and function in our own spaces.
And while we were there, we spoke with Kristy, a consultant. Her knowledge of Hunter Douglas blinds and shades was evident as she explained to us the different features and benefits of different blinds.
We also noted that they take care of everything when it comes to the installation, ensuring your new window treatments are perfectly fitted and operational.
