Stay fit with the top personal trainers in Vancouver

Stay fit with the top personal trainers in Vancouver
We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

According to a ranking by CNN, Vancouver is considered the world’s fourth healthiest city and ranks as the healthiest city in all of North America. The city is home to very active residents—with around 30% of them owning gym club memberships

That said, blending in with the Vancouverite crowd doesn’t necessarily mean you need to be in shape. You should get in shape for yourself, and if you don’t know where to start, consider hiring the best personal trainers in Vancouver!

These trainers can help you gain better control of your fitness journey and maintain a healthier lifestyle (or get a beach bod just in time for summer).

How much does hiring a personal trainer in Vancouver cost?

Hiring personal trainers in Vancouver will set you back around $90 to $180 a month or roughly $20 to $35 per credit.

Most trainers will recommend a set amount of credit sessions you may need based on your fitness goals. Consumable package deals and gym benefits may contribute to varying rates.

How We Chose

Credentials and Experience: We chose trainers who are certified by esteemed associations such as the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and the BC Recreation & Parks Association.

We also considered trainers who have completed degrees in kinesiology in various allied universities and colleges in Canada and abroad.
Rates: We selected trainers who charge reasonable prices for the training services they offer. In particular, we prefer those that charge clients around $90 to $180 for about 24 sessions or offer consumable credit package deals running from $800 to $1,500.
Range of Training Options: We selected trainers that offer multiple workout options such as in-person, online, or assisted training through mobile applications or bespoke workout plans that clients can do by themselves.
Fitness Specialties: We selected trainers who offer a diverse range of fitness specialties such as bodybuilding, kinesiology, balance, coordination, weightlifting, strength training, and flexibility.

We also considered trainers who have backgrounds in rehabilitation and injury recovery.

His no-nonsense approach really helps you

“I had a great and successful experience with George in his 6-week program. After the first 6-weeks, I was getting good results and enjoying the process so much that I signed up for a second 6 weeks and referred a few friends! I needed simplicity, accountability, and most importantly results and working with George brought me all of those things in spades. You have to do your own work in your head and heart to commit to your goals but if you do and trust George’s knowledge along the journey, he will help you get to where you want to go! His no-nonsense approach really helps you understand how and why to make good choices (put that cookie down 😁). Each workout is tailored to your specific needs and always with form, breathing, and safety top of mind. We also had quite a few laughs! Overall a great experience.”

His philosophy is SIMPLE and it WORKS

“After year of trying on my own I decided to get help. Working with George was the best decision I could of made. It was worth every penny. Despite crushing my goal in 6 weeks I stayed on with George another 12 weeks to help my new habits stick. George is no-nonsense, and he’s not selling anything, no snake oil, no pills, no supplements, his philosophy is SIMPLE and it WORKS, but only if you do too. Thanks for putting back on the right path George!”

Website

TurnFit Personal Trainers positions itself as one of Vancouver’s top-rated personal training providers, with a strong emphasis on long-term transformation rather than quick fixes. Their approach centers on the TurnFit Method, which integrates mindset, nutrition, movement, and recovery into a unified personal training experience.

A defining strength of their personal training services is the highly individualized approach taken by their certified trainers. Clients consistently highlight how trainers tailor exercises based on limitations, injuries, and personal goals, ensuring both safety and effectiveness.

TurnFit’s trainers appear to place significant emphasis on education and technique, not just execution. Clients frequently note improvements in posture, mobility, and overall body awareness due to detailed explanations and hands-on guidance during sessions.

Another standout aspect is the holistic support system that extends beyond workouts. Personal training includes guidance on nutrition, recovery strategies, and even mental support, reinforcing sustainable lifestyle changes rather than short-term results.

The consistency of communication and accountability is also a key feature of their service. Trainers and staff maintain regular check-ins, provide feedback through an app, and offer encouragement that helps clients stay committed even during challenging periods.

Flexibility is another advantage, as clients can choose between in-person sessions in Kitsilano or Downtown Vancouver or opt for virtual coaching. This accessibility makes it easier for individuals with varying schedules or locations to stay engaged with their training.

However, while the overall experience is highly positive, there are minor operational inconsistencies noted, such as occasional scheduling issues or initial trainer mismatches. These appear to be resolved quickly, but they still represent a small area for improvement in an otherwise well-regarded service

Pros

  • Personalized training plans
  • Knowledgeable trainers
  • Strong focus on technique
  • Ongoing support and accountability

Cons

  • Challenging learning curve for beginners

Customer Reviews

The quality and equipment are worth the costs.

“I had a great experience so far at TurnFit. Before the sessions, David will schedule a call to check over everything and make sure the program is designed to suit your expectations. During private trainings, trainers not only help you with fitness, muscle gaining, but also adjust your posture and make sure the methods are correct. The quality and equipment are worth the costs. Happy to see my improvements and thanks to my trainers Shivani & Neena :)”

TurnFit has been absolutely incredible.

“TurnFit has been absolutely incredible. I was very careful in picking a trainer because my goals were to improve my posture and prevent future injuries, and I saw huge improvements to my posture, pain, and general well-being over the span of a month. I love working with my trainer and having follow-up exercises in the app – it’s a super convenient way to keep on top of the exercises and connect with my trainer when I have questions.

Thank you TurnFit!”
