The 5 Best Clinics for Braces in Vancouver Trusted by Teens and Adults

We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

Expertise and Qualifications: We evaluated the qualifications, certifications, and years of experience of the orthodontists at each clinic. We prioritized those with board-certified professionals and a proven track record.

Range of Braces Options: We looked into whether the clinic offered a variety of treatment options, from traditional metal braces to clear aligners like Invisalign. We preferred those that give patients more flexibility based on comfort and budget.

Consultation Process: We reviewed how clinics handled initial consultations and treatment planning. We opted for clinics with thorough explanations and advanced technology like 3D imaging and digital scans.

Pricing and Payment Options: We assessed how transparent and reasonable their pricing structures were. Clinics that offered payment plans, insurance coordination, and flexible financing options stood out.

Growing up in Vancouver, I remember braces being a rite of passage. In high school, half of my friends had them, and we’d compare elastics, voting on who had the best color based on what was in back then.

Fast forward into adulthood, and I still see people around Kits and Commercial Drive rocking Invisalign or clear braces. After all, straight teeth are everybody’s dream!

For teens, finding a clinic for braces means finding a provider that won’t intimidate them. For adults, that means finding an option that fits their busy schedule and is worth the money from that 9-to-5 grind.

People say you can’t have both, but we did. Our team found clinics for braces that teens and adults swear by. Check them out here!

How much do braces cost in Vancouver?

The cost of braces in Vancouver ranges from $3,000 to $10,000, depending on the type and complexity of the case. Metal cases are the most affordable, while lingual braces and Invisalign are pricier.

Led by Dr. Angelina Loo and Dr. Edwin Yen, Braced impressed us with over 30 years of experience. They cater to both adults and kids too, making them a flexible choice for family needs.

We liked that their services are designed with a long-term plan in mind. Treatments follow a 6-phase system that includes regular wire adjustments and bite alignments. This personalized care covers over 18 to 24 months of progress.

Considering braces are a hefty investment, we’re happy to report how fair their rates are. On top of that, they also offer flexible payment options, accept major credit cards, and work with insurance providers.

New patient consultations are as comprehensive as we want. The attitude is always warm and welcoming, and patients can easily ask questions to clarify anything, from results to the amount they can expect to pay.

The lack of weekend hours may just be a little too limiting for most families and busy individuals. On the good side, they’re easy to book, and you can simply schedule an appointment at your most convenient time.

Pros

  • Over 30 years of experience
  • Led by 2 certified specialists
  • Specializes in adult and pediatric orthodontics
  • 6-phase treatment system
  • Uses digital scans and SmartTrack aligner
  • Accepts major credit cards
  • Flexible payment options
  • Works with most insurance providers
  • Free initial consultation

Cons

  • Closed on weekends
  • Potential for long wait times between appointments

Efficient and caring service

“My son’s treatment has been going on since 2023 under Dr Loo and every visit has been pleasant. Dr Loo takes the time to let us know the progress. Anya and the rest of the team make sure the appointments are on time. Dr Loo recommended an appliance which helped correct my son’s overbite without having to wear fixed braces. This is the best office for Orthodontic treatment.”

One of the things that stood out to us with ClearView is the transparency in their approach. According to clients, they’re unlike most clinics that often push for early interventions. They usually advise waiting if the treatment isn’t needed yet.

Apart from this, their range of services is also solid, particularly for their Invisalign program. They use 3D digital imaging to create a fully customized aligner series. Most Invisalign cases here span 9 to 20 months, and clients are supported all throughout.

Beyond the technical care, the clinic experience itself is exceptional. The office is modern and clear, with panoramic views that make clients feel at ease rather than anxious. The front staff are accommodating and personable too.

The best part, after reviewing their work history, is that they’re consistent with outstanding results. In particular, they’re capable of treatments like overjet correction and full metal braces for crowding.

When booking this place, it’s best to schedule at least 2 weeks in advance. It can be difficult to secure a slot here if you’re a new patient, plus they have had a few issues with unprompted cancellations. Make sure to follow up to confirm the booking.

Pros

  • Diamond-level Invisalign providers
  • Transparent treatment advice
  • Personalized consultations
  • Uses 3D imaging
  • Flexible treatment plants
  • Modern clinic with panoramic city views
  • On-time appointments
  • Solid results for traditional braces

Cons

  • Limited appointment availability
  • Minor issues of unprompted cancellations

We liked PacificWest for the variety of services they offer. They not only offer traditional and ceramic braces, but also Invisalign, lingual, and even gold braces. This makes them a good choice for clients looking for more unique options.

We’re happy to note that their treatment process is structured and transparent. Clients are well-informed every step of the way, from full-record diagnostics to personalized care plans. The progress reviews are also comprehensive.

The overall clinic experience is also noteworthy. They always run on time with little wait times between appointments. They can even accommodate same-week books for emergency cases like shifted wides.

The clinic also offers preventive orthodontic services for children. We like the complimentary consultations that don’t force parents into committing to immediate treatment.

However, the process itself isn’t the most comfortable. The treatment area is an open space, which is already a dealbreaker for clients who want privacy.

It may be an acceptable setting for adults, but not so much for kids, though the quality of service may still convince you to push through.

Pros

  • Highly qualified specialists
  • Wide range of braces offered
  • Personalized treatment process
  • Includes digital scans
  • Structure treatment timeline
  • On-time appointments
  • Upfront payment discounts available
  • Price matching offered
  • Accommodates patients of all ages
  • Bilingual service available (English and Mandarin)

Cons

  • Treatment areas lack privacy
  • Limited availability outside regular hours

One of Lighthouse’s best strengths is its clear aligner offerings, including Invisalign and ClearCorrect. These are great options for patients who want a convenient option and one that’s easy to maintain compared to traditional braces.

That said, their traditional braces are just as great. For this one, they offer Six Month Smiles, which modifies traditional braces to deliver fast results in 6 months. Compared to the usual option, this one is more affordable and time-efficient.

What also impressed us was their detailed service range beyond orthodontics, from smile design to implants. For patients looking to combine treatments with cosmetic upgrades, they’re a strong option.

Pricing transparency is also a plus, as they offer an information guide. This includes pricing breakdowns and treatment options. Additionally, the packages are customizable to fit the client’s needs and budget.

Unfortunately, we encountered instances wherein the clients felt that the staff were upselling services. We recommend only committing to braces and avoiding saying yes to any recommendations that are out of your budget.

Pros

  • Offers a solid range of clear aligners
  • Non-invasive cosmetic options available
  • Offers Six Month Smiles for faster results
  • Customizable packages
  • Modern clinic
  • Efficient appointment scheduling
  • Conveniently located in central Vancouver
  • Free consultation

Cons

  • Reports of upselling treatments
  • Minor reports of poor doctor attitude

Staff is helpful and friendly . The Dentist, Dr. Kiran is kind and friendly making the visit comfortable. I could ask my dental questions without hesitation where I was provided with clear details. And I am happy with the outcome of my treatment :)”

What we appreciate the most about Smile City is their four-step care model: consultation, planning, procedure, and follow-up. This ensures that patients receive a tailored treatment based on their concerns and lifestyle.

The overall experience is pretty solid. As we’ve gathered from clients, the team ensures the process is pain-free. If patients ever feel discomfort, they’re encouraged to reach out immediately. The support is quite reassuring.

Smile City isn’t limited to orthodontics alone. Their full range of services includes veneers, professional whitening, and same-day crowns. If you want to deal with multiple dental concerns, you may want to check them out.

Even the clinic itself deserved praise. We loved how clean it is, with the kind of environment that puts anxious patients at ease. The staff were all friendly too, and we appreciated the level of care they put into speaking to clients.

Our only critique is that they’re not too upfront with their pricing, which can push away clients who just want to compare options. We recommend booking a consultation and requesting a quote before committing to the service.

Pros

  • Personalized 4-step process
  • Wide range of dental services
  • Pain-free and convenient treatment experience
  • Quick post-procedure support
  • Pressure-free and informative consultation
  • Accessible location

Cons

  • Lack of upfront pricing
  • May be difficult to book online
