If you’re looking for flexible study options, Vancouver College of Massage Therapy gives you the choice between a 20-month full-time schedule or a 32-month part-time layout.
We spoke with a student who loved how the part-time option let her keep working while finishing clinical hours.
They keep classes small, too, capping them at 28 students for plenty of one-on-one time. Plus, we’ve heard that their students consistently achieve the highest first-time registration exam pass rates in the province.
That track record gives you a lot of confidence going into your board exams. You also get incredible hands-on practice starting early in the program.
Just keep in mind that scheduling patients isn’t always up to you. Some students also felt the clinic days were spread out unevenly, making it stressful to hit graduation targets.

Being a student at VCMT gave me the insight on how hard all the administrative staffs work to keep the school running so all you need to worry about is to show up to school and study hard! And the instructors and clinic/outreach supervisors are so dedicated to their jobs that they truly want you to success and they take pride of their professions. As a former student here and current RMT, VCMT has taught and given me the tools to succeed in my new field. From the owner to the instructor and everyone in between, I have experienced amazing communication, goal setting and was given a clear direction to create my own success.

Balancing work and family with school isn’t easy, but Pacific Coastal College of Massage Therapy makes it doable. Their program blends online theory with hands-on, in-person training.
A lot of working students we’ve spoken with said this setup is helpful, as they can fit classes into their busy lives.
The school has a five-year accreditation from the Canadian Massage Therapy Council for Accreditation, too, which is the highest you can get. Then, after finishing just the first three modules, you’ll actually start working with real clients.
You just need to be sure about your timeline before enrolling, since they don’t accept direct transfers into the second year.
Additionally, you have to commit to mandatory weekend campus sessions.

Their courses cover everything you’ll need for the registration exams, and you get 550 hours of real-world practice through their public clinic.
We heard from students who really appreciate how thorough the instructors are, saying it helps them feel prepared and supported throughout their training.
They’re serious about teaching you assessment and patient communication. However, this means your first few sessions might feel slower, with more talking and less massage time at the beginning.
The teachers are very educated
I am a 2025 graduate and this program was ruthless and testing but I can grantee there’s no other place I would have felt more prepared me to become an RMT more. Getting your diploma doesn’t have to mean you stop learning. At Vancouver Career College, you can keep going and take a direct path to a Bachelor of Health Science at Thompson Rivers University, transferring up to 69 credits after you graduate.
The program really focuses on hands-on experience, so you’ll spend 600 hours working with real clients in their clinics. Once you finish, their career services team supports you with job help for up to six months.
Just expect the admissions process to take a bit more effort. They want you to complete things like an intro workshop and a background check.
You should also keep your post-graduation expectations realistic. One customer felt the college provided limited assistance with job placement after completing training.
A reviewer questioned the overall value of the program relative to their expectations.
