So, we stumbled upon this place called Cheong Holistic Medicine, right across from St. Paul’s Hospital. The first thing that caught our eye? Dr. Spencer Oh is one of the first fully registered TCM doctors in Canada. That’s a pretty big deal.
And they don’t just do acupuncture here. They focus on the whole picture – body, mind, and spirit. We’re talking about everything from chronic pain to anxiety and depression. They even have special treatments for men’s and women’s health issues, sports injuries, and skin problems.
We also really liked that their acupuncture rates start at $145, which is a bit lower than most places around here. There is a one-time $4 registration fee, but it’s for life, so that’s not too bad.

Creates a trusting and healing environment for patients
“Dr Spenser Ho is very experienced, knowledgeable & truly deserves all the stars & recommendations! I have been taking his treatment since January this year when I 1st visited due to excruciating lower back pain & stiffness, something I have never experienced before, I saw his reviews & called him on a Saturday & he took me in at the last minute. He took a detailed history on my past & current medical issues in my life, had questions & walked me through the cost, which honestly didn’t matter at this time considering the agony my body & mind was going through. After his diagnosis, he started the treatment which lasted over an hour & by the end of it I felt a significant relief, my body felt lighter, my pain was 80-90% gone & I could walk back home! I came for a few more sessions as I wanted to heal completely & Dr Spencer Ho did a miraculous job, my lower back pain & stiffness is gone!. Getting treated for my allergies & sinus now. Dr Spencer Ho is a simple doctor with a good, positive energy & in my conversation with him, also got to know he is a yogi, no wonder the positivity reflects on him & his work. You are in good hands here, thank you, thank you so much Dr Ho.”

Eases discomfort with a professional yet comforting approach
“I severely injured my back on March 3rd and I tried to stretch it at home and at work up until Wednesday I was making progress but unfortunately when I woke up on Thursday my injury got worse. I Had shooting pains in my lower back. I then realized I needed professional help. I had seen Dr Oh in the past so I booked an appointment the following morning on the Friday. I was in a lot of pain but Dr Oh made me feel comfortable and made me laugh being in a tough situation. I felt better 3 hrs later. I booked a subsequent appointment on the Monday morning. I took muscle relaxants all weekend but it didn’t give me much relief. I did a stretching exercise Dr Oh gave me which helped to loosen my lower back. After my visit on Monday I could really feel that my back loosening up and the sharp shooting pains stopped. I continued to stretch my back and it started to become more flexible. I saw Dr Oh a third time on Wednesday March 13 and by that evening, my pain was now gone! For anybody looking for help with back or neck injuries I highly recommend you see Dr Oh who is a true professional! Thank you!”

Makes clients feel immediately at ease and well cared for
“Just an amazing wellness centre. The care and attention I received from Lidia doing acupuncture and cupping on me was holistic and intuitive and really helped me with my condition. She was so knowledgeable and kind natured that I felt immediately relaxed and at ease. I have been for acupuncture dozens of times over the years but this was the best treatment I have ever received. Also her follow up the next day was informative and precious with exercises and food recommendations to further help with my condition. I am already back for my second visit. So happy.”

We were really impressed with Zahra Acupuncture Clinic, especially with how Dr. Zahra Mazanderani brings her expertise as both a Registered Acupuncturist and a Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine into each session.
