1. Via Tevere Pizzeria

Address: 1190 Victoria Dr
Contact: (604) 336-1803 | [email protected]
Hours: Sunday-Thursday 4:00 – 9:30 PM; Friday-Saturday 4:00 – 10:30 PM
Authentic Neapolitan wood-fired pizza with a distinct East Van identity makes Via Tevere Pizzeria a local legend. Their kitchen crafts traditional pies using long-fermented dough and fresh fior di latte cheese.
We chatted with the server on our last visit, and she mentioned their wood-fired oven runs at extreme temperatures to cook pies in under two minutes. You can swing by during their daily happy hour from four to five for great food deals.
On top of that, their cozy dining room feels like a trip to Naples, though you can also order takeaway for home.
The main drawback is that they don’t take reservations at this location. Dinner wait times can get pretty long on weekends.
Plus, their strict focus on classic Neapolitan style means you won’t find super thick, meat-heavy options here.

Great service , wonderful Napoletana verified pizza technique and ingredients
I was there from my friend’s 50th birthday party and it was awesome! Great service, wonderful Napoletana verified pizza technique and ingredients! We had a large party if 16 and got a private seating reservation outside on the very nice wood covered deck .
Great recommendations for appys – cheese bread soon good and more. Plenty of free street parking , but just check the signs , some is 2hrs and some by residential permit only

Will definitely recommend to others who like Neapolitan pizza
Finally, I was able to dine at Via Tevere. They’re quite famous in town for their Neopolitana styled pizza which comes with a chewy crust. Best if eaten when pizza is folded. The toppings for the four cheese was so good. The meatball also tasted very good. Finished off with the sugary donuts, it was a lovely dinner experience. Service is great, food came in very fast, and good price. Will definitely recommend to others who like Neapolitan pizza.

2. Virtuous Pie

Website: https://www.virtuouspie.com/
Address: 583 Main St
Contact: (604) 620-0060
Hours: Monday-Sunday 12:00 – 10:00 PM
With Virtuous Pie, plant-based diners can enjoy handcrafted vegan pizzas that rival any traditional pizzeria in town. This Chinatown spot creates everything in-house, from their multi-day fermented dough to their rich nut-based cheeses.
Their 11-inch pies come topped with clever flavour combinations that hit every savoury note. You can even grab creamy dairy-free ice cream for dessert before heading out.
They really are a fantastic option if you want great pizza alongside options like tapas for a fun food trip with friends.
However, their heavy reliance on nut-based cheeses means guests with tree nut allergies must exercise caution. Classic meat lovers might also miss traditional dairy mozzarella.

It was the best vegan pizza we have had yet
Everything we got was amazing. We got garlic knots, pasta, pizza and ice-cream. It was the best vegan pizza we have had yet. It is always nice going to a vegan restaurant and not worrying about double checking the ingredients list. I would definitely go there more often if we lived close enough to.

Families seeking healthy dining will love Rocky Mountain Flatbread, an award-winning spot focused on farm-to-table pizzas made with organic local ingredients. The kitchen operates in a completely nut-free environment, giving guests total peace of mind.
A friend who brought her kids here last week told us the kitchen staff handled their severe nut allergies with total care.
By the way, you can pair your flatbread with local craft beer or wine while enjoying cozy seating that rivals the top dining patios. They even serve fresh salads, pastas, and house-made desserts.
Keep in mind that the restaurant closes on Mondays. The casual family atmosphere might also feel a bit noisy if you want an intimate, quiet date night.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was inviting and comfortable
I recently dined here with my family, and we had a wonderful experience. We ordered the pesto chicken pizza and beef pepperoni pizza, along with a fresh salad. Both dishes were exceptionally well-seasoned and cooked to perfection, with vibrant flavors that truly stood out.
The atmosphere of the restaurant was inviting and comfortable, making it a great spot for family gatherings. The customer service was outstanding as well; the staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our meal.

The pizza was fresh and authentic tasting
Came here for the first time this evening, we ordered the Nourish Bowl and the All Canadian pizza! It was great!
It’s a really relaxing environment and was fun to see the fall decorations. The owners obviously really care about doing a good job.
The food was great too! The Nourish Bowl was especially amazing, I’ve never had a salad I’ve enjoyed as much. The pizza was fresh and authentic tasting.

4. Captain’s Oven Pizza

Website:https://captainsovenpizza.com/
Address: 1110 W Pender St
Contact: (604) 416-5555
Hours: Sunday-Thursday 11:00 AM – 10:00 PM; Friday-Saturday 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Fast, high-heat baking defines Captain’s Oven Pizza’s approach to traditional Neapolitan pies. They import a massive three-ton stone brick oven directly from Italy to cook each order at 900°F in just minutes.
The intense heat locks in moisture and creates a light, chewy crust with delightful charred spots. Their simple combination of hand-stretched dough, San Marzano tomato sauce, and fresh mozzarella keeps flavours clean and authentic.
Moreover, having two Vancouver locations makes it very convenient to grab a hot dinner after work.
Unfortunately, the soft, delicate crust can feel a bit floppy if you prefer thick, heavy slices. And they don’t open for breakfast.

Definitely be back 🙂
I was recently in the area and decided to check out this pizza place. Great neopolitian style pizza in vancouver.. The crust is nice and firm yet soft. Good texture. This pizza i got was the caprese pizza. A vegetarian option. One of the best i’ve tried. I especially liked how the pizza wasn’t wet or soggy on the bottom how lots tend to be with thin crust pizza. Great job captains oven! I” definitely be back 🙂

5. Napoletana Pizza Restaurant

Website: https://www.pizzanapoletana.ca/
Address: 3875 Fraser St
Contact: (604) 229-9249
Hours: Monday-Thursday 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM; Friday-Saturday 11:00 AM – 12:00 AM; Sunday 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Classic Italian hospitality and refined sit-down dining set Napoletana Pizza Restaurant apart from casual slice counters. Operating for over two decades, they serve hand-stretched pizzas alongside fresh pasta and curated Italian wines.
Their warm dining room offers an inviting atmosphere for evening dates or celebration dinners. You can pair your favourite wood-fired pie with a glass of Barolo or a classic martini.
We really appreciate that their kitchen stays open daily until late, making it a reliable pick for late-night meals.
That said, because the atmosphere leans toward formal dining, they’re less suited for a quick, grab-and-go slice. Additionally, their menu focuses on general Italian cuisine rather than just pizza.

We were super excited to see that they had expanded to East Vancouver
Grew up eating Napoletana pizza at their Kits location. We were super excited to see that they had expanded to East Vancouver as well. Freshly made pizza, creative flavours and generous toppings, and warm service in a cozy setting!

Absolutely delicious, fresh, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor
I had an amazing experience at Neapolitan Pizza! Their pizza is absolutely delicious fresh, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. The Chicken Alfredo pasta was creamy and rich, easily one of the best I’ve had, and the wings were cooked just right with great seasoning. On top of the food, the service was excellent fast, friendly, and welcoming. Overall, a great spot that I’ll definitely be coming back to!
