Nobody likes clutter—well, I sure don’t. So if there’s somewhere I can store some of my stuff, and it’s not taking up space at home, I’m all in.
The good news is, Vancouver has plenty of those storage options. These spaces can help you cut down on the chaos and space at home while keeping your belongings safe and sound.
The catch is, not all storage spaces are made equal. Some offer excellent service and top-notch security, while others… not so much.
That’s why our team decided to dig a little deeper. We checked out some of the best storage spaces around Vancouver to see which ones really stand out. So if you’re looking for a reliable spot, you’ll definitely want to check out our list.
How much do storage spaces cost in Vancouver?
Storage spaces in Vancouver typically range from around $150–$650 per month, depending on the size and location. Smaller units are on the lower end, while larger units or those in prime areas cost more.
1. NationWide Self Storage Pender

Address: 1223 E Pender St
Phone: +1 604-336-9594
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 9 AM – 5:30 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: 9 AM – 5 PM
Our team loved how NationWide Self Storage Pender is spotless, bright, and surprisingly welcoming. It isn’t something you expect from a storage facility.
The tech side of things is where they really stand out. There are no jangling keys or awkward padlocks here. Instead, you unlock everything through an app on your phone (from the front gate to your unit door).
Inside, the place is impressively clean and well-lit. There are wide hallways and organised layouts that make moving boxes in and out much less of a workout.
You can tell they’ve thought about the small details. They even offer packaging supplies right there at the office for reasonable prices.
There’s also a nice variety of storage sizes. Whether you’re stashing a few old photo albums or an entire living room, there’s an option that fits.
That said, a few customers said communication could be better. Some of them mentioned they didn’t get reminders before their rental term ended, which led to surprise fees later on.
Excellent Service and Friendly Staff
“Excellent Service and Friendly Staff! I had a great experience at this storage location. “Simer” was incredibly helpful and made the whole process smooth and pleasant. Her professionalism and friendly attitude really stood out. Her colleague was also very welcoming and kind. I highly recommend this location to anyone looking for reliable service and a positive customer experience!”

They made the whole process pleasant and painless
“Great experience so far. Gary and AK were terrific. They made the whole process pleasant and painless and were definitely a motivating factor for choosing this facility over others that we viewed. Access is a little tricky and the high tech wasn’t working well the first time we tried to use the facility (the front door kept shutting before we could get our cart through it) but it’s been working well since. The keyless lock is very convenient and the facility is spotless.”

2. Public Storage

Address: 1698 W 3rd Ave
Phone: +1 778-654-7187
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 9:30 AM – 6 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: 9:30 AM – 5 PM
When we asked customers about Public Storage, the first thing they talked about was how spotless it is. They were right since when we visited the facility, it had clean floors, tidy hallways, and polished storage units.
You can tell the staff really keeps things just right, and speaking of staff, they’re also the secret hero here.
Everyone seems to love Michael. He’s helpful, knowledgeable, and just genuinely nice. He can make a stressful moving day feel a little lighter.
In terms of setup, everything is super straightforward. Parking is easy, and the elevators work without drama. There’s also a good variety of unit sizes.
Prices sit around the middle of the range for Vancouver, but the frequent new-customer discounts make them feel more affordable.
That said, some customers mentioned that access hours aren’t always perfectly followed. It could be annoying if you show up late in the evening.
Clean and well-maintained internal self-storage locker facility
“I highly recommend it for your temporary storage needs. Excellent, professional service at a clean and well-maintained internal self-storage locker facility. There was no trouble cancelling, no “accidental” extra charges. The lockers are not cheap, but priced consistently with similar self-storage facilities in central Vancouver.”

Michael was so thoughtful throughout the whole process
“This was my first time ever renting a storage place, so I walked in completely clueless! But Michael was so thoughtful throughout the whole process and made it so easy for me to understand! We also had an issue regarding the access code, but he immediately got it fixed! Thank you!”

3. Sentinel Storage – Vancouver

Address: 8866 Laurel St
Phone: +1 604-260-1983
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 5 AM – 7 PM
- Saturday: 6 AM – 5 PM
- Sunday: 6 AM – 3 PM
Sentinel Storage’s location is a sweet spot for convenience. It’s close to the airport, easy to reach from out of town, and actually feels safe to visit, no matter the time of day.
We also found it especially appealing how flexible they are. Sentinel works well for people in transition—those moving homes, renovating, or managing business inventory. But it also serves niche needs like car, RV, and boat storage.
That’s not something you see often in Vancouver, where space is scarce.
When we visited, the facilities were exactly what you want: clean, bright, and well-laid out. There are plenty of trolleys, and the lighting makes it easy to see what you’re doing.
They also give discounts to students. It makes them a nice option for anyone moving between semesters or just needing a spot for stuff during the summer.
However, it’s not the cheapest storage around. Some customers mentioned that their prices go up every year, and it can start to feel a bit like paying rent.
If your goal is to save money, you’ll probably find a cheaper option somewhere else.
The facility is beyond expectations
“Chavan and Varun are very professional and genuine to deal with. They explain about the rental contract, answer questions you may have and show the available facilities on-site. The facility is beyond expectations, clean units and well-lit hallways.”
Nathaniel Garo, Google review
Excellent customer care
“Love that it is a Canadian company, the facilities are clean and well managed and secure, every point of contact over the phone and in person, the customer service was amazing, particularly with Adi on the phone, and in person at the Laurel Street location in Vancouver with Chavan and Rocia. Excellent customer care.”

4. Cache Depot Self-Storage

Address: Back Alley Entrance, 1231 Frances St
Phone: +1 778-955-4769
Business hours:
- Monday to Sunday: 9 AM – 7 PM
What makes Cache Depot Self-Storage stand out is that you don’t need to rent a whole unit. Instead, you only have to pay for the actual stuff you store.
It’s a practical and very clever. It makes sense for people who don’t have a mountain of belongings but still want their things tucked away safely.
People also raved about how genuinely nice the staff are. They’re kind, patient, and seem to understand that storing your stuff often happens during chaotic times.
Their setup also feels secure. The trade-off, though, is that you can’t just pop in whenever you want. Everything works by appointment, which definitely boosts security but might annoy those who like to come and go freely.
Pricing depends on the size of your items, which already feels fair, but what’s even better is their mix-and-match option.
If you’ve got a few boxes and a bike, they’ve got you covered without forcing you into one-size-fits-all pricing.
Price-wise, Cache Depot hits a sweet spot for small to medium storage needs. But if you’re storing half your house, a traditional unit might still be cheaper and easier to access.
5-star service at a great price
“First class customer service, first class facility and great value. Finding a secure and accessible place to store our kayaks in Vancouver hasn’t been easy – until we found Cache Depot. Ivan and his team deliver 5-star service at a great price.”
B Patterson, Google review
The price was much more attractive than in other places
“I can highly recommend using cache self-storage! Ivan was extremely helpful and flexible, making it super easy to deposit and pick up our stuff. The price was also much more attractive than in other places. We also appreciated the coffee and restaurant tips we got! Don’t hesitate to use this place to store your belongings.”

5. Maple Leaf Self Storage

Address: 33 Commercial Dr
Phone: +1 604-258-9058
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM – 6 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: 9 AM – 5 PM
The cleanliness is one of Maple Leaf’s biggest wins. Their halls are spotless, and we didn’t see any signs of pests, which says a lot about how well the place is looked after.
Security is another area where they shine. Having a live-in security guard? That’s impressive. It really adds to that peace of mind that your belongings are being watched over when you’re not there.
Add in the usual cameras and keypad entry, and it’s pretty clear they’ve covered their bases.
Based on their past customers, the staff were all friendly and patient, especially with first-timers or seniors.
One person even mentioned how the team walked them through everything—from locking the unit to using the keypad—without making them feel rushed or awkward.
The real sticking point is the access hours. Maple Leaf opens at 8:30 AM and shuts its doors at 8 PM sharp. For anyone working regular hours, that’s pretty limiting. You basically have to plan your visits with military precision.
I would return here every time!
“WOW-first time I ever needed to book a storage unit, and the staff were so friendly and helpful, offered me better pricing and size deal, and didn’t hesitate to show a beginner the process for locking the unit, entry and exit key pads, and more. As a senior, I really appreciated the help and how friendly they were! I would return here every time!”
Patti McVey, Google review
Super secure, very clean, and the staff is friendly
“Just finished up here. It’s a great facility. Super secure, very clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. The access is good for all sizes of vehicles, with good access to the loading platform. Plenty of trolleys of different sizes and good-sized freight elevators. Thanks for all your help, Samantha!”
