Absolute Roof Solutions stood out for their deep knowledge of how different roof materials age. A big reason for that is Ken Lillejord, their roofing consultant with 44 years in the business.
We really appreciate how he walks his customers through exactly what to look for. For example, he points out that missing granules on asphalt shingles mean it’s time to act, or that moss on cedar shakes isn’t just rustic charm but also traps moisture.
One residential client we spoke to said Ken noticed signs of insect damage to his roof during an inspection. This discovery led to a timely roof replacement and helped the client avoid more costly damage to his property.
While they’ll install any brand customers want, they often recommend CertainTeed asphalt shingles. After seeing how well these roofs have held up on local homes, that recommendation makes sense.
We also love how every residential roof replacement in Vancouver or commercial job they do comes with a 10-year workmanship warranty. They even let people bring in a third-party inspector to check their work. That level of confidence is reassuring.
The only catch? It can take a week or two to get on their schedule, especially during the peak rainy season.

All Star Roofing is honest, and we love that. They don’t automatically push full replacements when a reroof or partial fix will do.
A client we spoke to said he was relieved when All Star recommended a partial roof replacement instead of pushing for a full job, saving him thousands.
With 20 years of experience, their team is clearly comfortable handling everything from pitched roofs to complex commercial systems. It’s actually impressive how they can also customise materials to fit uniquely shaped roofs.
They’re sticklers for following manufacturer specs too, and their certified installers make sure the job’s done right the first time.
We also like that their liability insurance tops $2 million, so people don’t have to worry about accidents on site.
That said, their estimates take a bit longer to be put together. A few homeowners we interviewed said they waited a few days for a detailed quote, which can put urgent roof replacements behind schedule.

Cooper Roofing’s commitment to transparency and long-term protection is what sets them apart. Their estimates are very detailed, with every cost clearly explained.
Several customers told us they appreciated being walked through each line item instead of being handed a vague total.
They’re also well-covered on the safety front, carrying $2 million in liability coverage and up-to-date WCB protection.
As certified contractors for both Malarkey and CertainTeed, they offer an incredible 50-year extended warranty. This covers materials, labour, tear-off, and disposal if something goes wrong.
They are quite meticulous too. Several people shared that before starting any replacements, the installers took their time to cover plants and yards with plywood and tarps.
When we looked at some of the roof replacements they’ve done, none look crooked or out of place with the home design.
The main drawback, though, is cost. They are a little more expensive than other roofing companies in Vancouver.

All Coast Roofing earns points for being educational rather than salesy or pushy. We love that they don’t just tell people they need a new roof during the initial visit. They actually explain why.
Homeowners we talked to shared that their roofers have pointed out issues like cracked tiles and deteriorating mortar. This helped them understand the urgency of the problem instead of feeling pressured.
Their team is also friendly and down-to-earth. They take time to answer questions, even about aesthetic concerns like whether switching to asphalt shingles would change a building’s appeal.
They’re also quite responsive. A family we spoke to said they called in the morning, and All Coast already had someone out to look at their roof for an estimate by that afternoon.
In addition to that, we like their flexibility with both residential and commercial jobs.
That said, they don’t specialise in every roof type. A couple of people with metal roofs said that they referred them to another company, which was helpful, but meant starting over with a new contractor.
