The 8 Best Notary Publics in Vancouver That Won’t Waste Your Time

notary-publics-in-vancouver
We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.
  • Reviews: We asked customers about their experience with these notaries. We paid attention to what they had to say about their personality, communication skills, and more.
  • Services: We assessed the range of notary services offered. While basic notarization is key, we favored notaries indicating experience with a variety of document types (affidavits, international documents, etc.).
  • Speed and Efficiency of Service: We timed the average notarization process and prioritized notaries known for quick turnaround. We looked for places where people reported minimal wait times and efficient document processing.
  • Accessibility: We considered location within Vancouver, ease of access (walk-in availability vs. appointment-only), and business hours. We favored notaries that offered convenient options for busy individuals needing quick notarization services.

We’ve all had those notary encounters that leave you feeling less like you’ve accomplished a legal task and more like you’ve survived a low-stakes escape room.

After one particularly memorable experience involving a notary who seemed personally offended by the concept of doing work, and a document that emerged bearing more staple holes than actual text, I realized I should have done more research beforehand.

Keeping my horrid experience in mind, I enlisted the rest of the Waterview Vancouver team to help me find notary publics in the city worth going to. Here are the notaries we found that are actually efficient and pleasant to deal with.

How much does it cost to get a document notarized in Vancouver?

It costs at least 40 CAD to get a document notarized in Vancouver.

This is just an estimate. The actual cost will vary depending on the amount of copies, signatures, and more.

Was super flexible with the timing

“A.J. is diligent and detailed. He caught a 0.40$ mistake from the buyer’s lawyer. He checks everything so thoroughly to make sure you don’t pay a penny (or in this case 40 cents) more than needed. Additionally our bank was slow getting him the paperwork that he needed, and he was able to work quickly and accurately with the tight timeline they left him with. Plus he was super flexible with the timing of the appointment to sign docs. He’s organized and explains everything clearly. We greatly appreciated having him on our team to ensure the sale of our home went smoothly. His rates are also very reasonable!”

Operating Hours: M-F: 8AM – 4PM / Closed all Statutory and Government Holidays

We recently used Kim Vickers & Associates Notary Public for some official document signings — and overall, we felt the experience was smooth, professional, and reassuring. From our first inquiry, they were prompt in responding; they explained clearly what kinds of documents they handled, what we needed to bring, and how much the service would cost. That clarity upfront helped us feel prepared and confident before we even walked in.

When we met with them, the staff greeted us politely, checked our IDs carefully, and walked us through each step of the notarization process. They made sure we understood what we were signing and why our presence was required, which gave us peace of mind that everything was handled with care and legality in mind. We never felt rushed or uncertain — they were thorough and patient even when we asked follow-up questions about the wording and the implications of the document.

After signing, they stamped and sealed the documents promptly, and gave us a neatly organized packet with everything we needed. We appreciated that they double-checked the final paperwork in our presence before handing it over, so there were no surprises later. The entire process felt formal yet accessible — not intimidating, but clearly handled with the seriousness and respect due for legal documents.

If we were to offer a small suggestion, it would be to provide a short guide or checklist beforehand for first-time clients — a simple reminder of what to bring (IDs, proofs, etc.) to avoid minor hiccups. But even without such a guide, our interaction with them was smooth enough that it didn’t feel like a major issue.

In the end, working with Kim Vickers & Associates Notary Public felt dependable, transparent, and respectful — exactly what you want when dealing with important official documents.

Pros

  •  Longstanding experience
  • Broad legal-notary services
  • Clear, detailed document preparation
  • Convenient downtown location
  • Client guidance through complexities

Cons

  • Busy during peak seasons
