I once had a friend who needed a custom metal railing for his home renovation. He found a company online, handed in the specs he wanted, and expected a smooth process. Instead, he ended up with a warped metal, missed deadlines, and a whole lot of frustration.
Seeing his experience, I knew I had to be more careful when it came time to hire a metal fabricator myself.
So, when my nephew needed a loft bed built, I wasn’t willing to take chances. I teamed up with the rest of the Waterview Vancouver team and set out—beyond the usual online searches— to track down top-tier metal fabrication companies.
After numerous consultations and interviews with former clients, we found the best metal fabrication companies in Vancouver. If you want quality work without the headaches, here’s where to start!
How much does metal fabrication cost in Vancouver?
Metal fabrication in Vancouver costs around CAD 5,000 to CAD 7,500 for custom projects.
The final cost varies based on factors like material type, project complexity, and labor.

2. Downtown Custom Metal Works Ltd

Address: 1356 E Pender St
Phone: +1 604-216-2626
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 7 AM – 3:15 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: Closed
Downtown Custom Metal Works Ltd. has an impressive range of services. They handle forming, welding, and even custom modifications.
A customer we spoke to had to cut a metal panel under their kitchen cabinets to fit a new dishwasher. Their team was able to cut it on the spot.
We’re also impressed that they work with a variety of materials, including aluminum, stainless steel, and brass.
In one case, they crafted a custom brass countertop for a cafe. They didn’t just build it; they also helped refine the design and had it ready ahead of schedule. Their quick turnaround times make them a reliable option when you need something done fast.
Plus, they don’t just do the job. Their strict inspection process at every stage of production ensures everything they do is handled with quality. Their team double-checks every metal fitting before finalizing.
However, they’re closed on the weekends. So, if you need something urgently, you’ll have to plan around that.
3. False Creek Fabrication

Address: 1602 Western St
Phone: +1 604-360-0696
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 7:30 AM – 4 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: Closed
False Creek Fabrication stood out to our team for their transparency and problem-solving. We spoke to customers who had everything done here.
We loved how Chris, who runs the place, is hands-on and takes the time to get things right. He works through detailed design drawings with their clients, making sure everything is right before fabrication begins.
We also heard positive comments about the team’s integrity.
There were times when projects ran into unexpected issues, but instead of bumping up the price like some companies might, Chris stuck to his original quote. We think this is what makes people trust them, so they keep on coming back.
They’ve also handled everything from custom furniture to restaurant patios. They even helped a client dismantle structures when they had to shut down. It shows their commitment to long-term relationships.
However, they could use a little improvement in their communication. We heard from someone who was left hanging, which led to delays in their project. Hopefully, that’s something they can work on.
4. Roman Metal Works Ltd.

Address: 980 W 1st St Unit 121
Phone: +1 604-987-8880
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 7:30 AM – 4 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: Closed
If you need metal bulk orders, Roman Metal Works Ltd. can accommodate them. Our team saw them working on a large batch of metal brackets and despite the high volume, they were very precise with everything they were doing.
They excel in custom pieces, too. A lot of the clients we spoke to have had unique projects done here, like stainless steel cooker hoods, modified e-bike carriers, and vaulted ceilings.
Their in-house design process plays a big role in this. Using CAD/CAM software, they let clients see a preview of their project before fabrication even begins. This helps them avoid mistakes and keeps everything running smoothly.
We also appreciate how they offer international shipping, so even if you’re not in Vancouver, you can still use their services.
One thing to note though, they’re not Better Business Bureau (BBB)-accredited. If you’re the type who prefers accredited businesses, it might be a downside.
5. Keenzo Metal Fabrication & Welding

Address: 615 E Georgia St
Phone: +1 604-364-5662
With 18 years of experience in the industry, Keenzo Metal Fabrication & Welding specializes in stainless steel, aluminum, and even titanium.
One of the things that impressed us was their custom designs. When we visited, their team was working on decorative window security bars for a local boutique. They managed to blend security and aesthetics so well.
Instead of just cutting a basic shape, Keenan, the lead of the company, made the bars look like they were part of the shop’s decor.
We also heard great things about their hands-on approach. One client needed custom aluminum boat seats, and instead of just taking measurements over the phone, the team met them at the boat to work through the design together.
However, since they’re an independent shop, they might not be the best fit for big industrial projects. But if you need high-quality custom metalwork, they’re definitely worth checking out.
