Take my friend, for instance. He had a tattoo that was meant to be a symbol of his love for his ex-girlfriend, but it turned into a painful reminder of a relationship gone wrong.
His experience with removal was a series of mishaps: inconsistent results, scarring, and dreaded surprise fees.
Seeing his struggle was eye-opening for me. Because of that, I decided to recruit the rest of the Waterview Vancouver team to help me look into better tattoo removal options out there.
We visited various shops and interviewed clients who had been through the process themselves. Here’s who made it onto our list of the best places to get rid yourself of ink regrets.
How much does it cost to get a tattoo removed in Vancouver?
It costs at least 250 CAD per session to get a tattoo removed in Vancouver.
The final price will vary depending on the colour, the size, and the type of the tattoo.
1. Studio Kiku

Studio Kiku uses the PicoWay laser technology, which is touted as one of the best in the game for safe and effective tattoo removal. The laser works by breaking down ink particles.
During our interviews, many people expressed amazement at how quickly their tattoos began to fade.
When we chatted with the staff, they explained their setup, which includes the Zimmer Chiller. This nifty machine blows out super-cold air (-30 degrees) to help minimize discomfort during the procedure and prevent any thermal damage to the skin.
We saw a few people going in for their sessions, and they seemed pretty calm about the whole thing, thanks to that cooling system.
Additionally, the atmosphere at Studio Kiku is clean and professional, which is exactly what you want.
However, we did hear the staff could be a bit rude at times.

2. Ink Off

Inkoff starts things off with a free consultation where a technician takes a good look at your tattoo and breaks down the whole removal process.
During our visit, they answered all our questions without rushing us. Everyone we spoke to was honest, patient, and upfront about what to expect.
The atmosphere was pretty chill too. We could tell they genuinely care about their clients and want to ensure you’re comfortable every step of the way.
They use the Quanta Q-Plus series laser, which has this cool “square beam technology.” Basically, this means less overlap during treatment, leading to better results compared to other Q-switched lasers out there.
Plus, those OptiBeam handpieces deliver a squared flat-top laser beam, making everything safe and effective.
Another neat feature is the Zimmer Cryo Skin Cooling System. It helps ease the sting, which is a big plus if you’re worried about pain.
That said, some people pointed out that green tattoos can be a bit tricky with this laser, and they didn’t see the same results as with other colors.

Removery Tattoo Removal specialists have put in over 160 hours of training—yeah, that’s more than some college degrees!
This dedication really showed when we spoke with the staff. Not only are they knowledgeable, but they also exude a genuine passion for their work.
In fact, they even stay updated on the latest techniques, ensuring they provide the best care possible.
They use the Picoway laser for the procedure. It’s highly regarded for significantly reducing the risk of complications, including scarring or changes in skin pigmentation.
This aspect resonated with many of the individuals we spoke with, especially after hearing some horror stories about less reputable removal methods.
Additionally, Removery’s pricing model is quite appealing. You pay one flat rate for unlimited sessions until your tattoo is completely gone. It takes the stress out of budgeting for multiple visits and makes it easier to commit to the process.
As for the atmosphere, the staff went out of their way to ensure we felt comfortable, and the space itself was clean and modern.
That said, we heard a couple of minor complaints about the long wait times for appointments.

From the outset, the staff prioritizes calming your anxieties during in-person consultations. They even take the time to explain the entire removal process in detail.
Many people we interviewed initially walked in feeling nervous about potential pain, but the team put them at ease.
During our observation of their technicians, we noticed that they thoroughly explained the aftercare process to ensure their clients understood what to do post-treatment.
They even took the extra step of cleaning and wrapping the area for their customer’s trip home, which we found to be a thoughtful touch.
Furthermore, they offer flexible pricing based on the size of the tattoo, along with discounts for multi-session packages. It’s a bonus that not every establishment provides.
However, we did think the waiting area could benefit from cozier seating options. Comfort is important for clients, especially during long procedures, so adding some extra features would enhance the overall experience.

Laserase Skin Clinic uses the RevLite SI laser technology. It’s known for its speed and safety, minimal side effects, and scarring.
Several people we interviewed said they noticed a significant fading of their tattoos after just the first session.
During our consultation, the staff members were friendly and willing to explain the intricacies of the Q-switched Nd:YAG laser.
This particular laser emits light at specific wavelengths that are particularly well-absorbed by tattoo pigments, which helps minimize damage to the surrounding skin.
Moreover, the atmosphere of the clinic was welcoming and clean. It exuded a laid-back vibe that helped ease any nerves many clients had when starting their tattoo removal treatments.
That said, several people wished the clinic provided numbing cream for aftercare, which could have made the experience more comfortable.
Does a great job and is very reasonably priced
“I have done 3 laser removal sessions at lazerase skin clinic and I have to say it was a great experience. I saw Jennifer for all session and she is amazing. She’s so kind and caring, checking to see how I’m feeling and if I need a break, applying ice before and after a section to reduce the pain and any swelling. She makes you feel at home and comfortable during the whole process. Her rates are also great! If you’re looking for a laser removal clinic that cares, does a great job and is very reasonably priced then I recommend you book in with Jennifer, you will not be disappointed with the service she provides. Also, each appointment I made I was seen same day! No waiting.
