Very happy with their service
“I currently use Global Senior Care for my 93-year-old grandmother and we are very happy with their service.
Their care workers are knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating, the company is always very communicative and provides a reliable service which gives you peace of mind that your family is in safe hands.
They also have one of the most affordable rates for private home care and provide excellent service, we highly recommend them.”

Right at Home features one of the most seamless processes to enrol loved ones in their services. Their process starts with a phone call and from there, they’ll create a personal profile for the patient and arrange a special care service based on their needs.
Speaking of services, we liked the solid selection they offered albeit a bit limited compared to other home care providers. For instance, they offer companion care so that seniors won’t have to worry about doing household chores while having someone who promotes healthy living.
We also appreciated how they offered an in-depth personal care package, which tackles the more major challenges. With one of their talented caregivers, this type of care will help seniors with daily tasks such as climbing the stairs, brushing their teeth, eating, etc.
They also offer nursing care for seniors with different types of diseases, which is a plus!
Pros
- Services for specialised needs
- Serves a wide area of Greater Vancouver
- Friendly and caring caregivers
- Easy to reach
- Seamless process
Cons
- Slightly limited range of services
All of their in-home staff were wonderful
“We used Right at Home to assist us with caring for my ailing father. Their coordinator Patricia was lovely and so helpful and all of their in-home staff were wonderful.
We especially appreciated the help of Ivy. They were able to get our care started quickly, with no delays and were flexible in adjusting the service required as needed. I would recommend to anyone needing in-home care services.”

They are able to adapt to every curve ball that comes their way
“I highly recommend Right at Home. After trying competitors including the largest in Vancouver I found RAH to be the best because they are able to adapt to every curve ball that comes their way.
I first used them when my mother sadly was stricken with cancer and Helen and her staff helped take care of her until she was moved to hospice. Now my father has health issues including dementia and Catherine and Bill have been amazing.
The important thing is that every case is different and they adapt to the very specific needs of our case and can be approached with any and all concerns I have. The caregivers provide full care and much-needed social interaction.”

One of the things that immediately drew our attention to this provider is how easy it is to get a consultation and they even do it for free! This gave us the impression that they’re compassion is legit in helping our loved ones get expert care based on their needs.
Speaking of expert care, another thing we were impressed with was their Alzheimer’s and Dementia care. We discovered that this care doesn’t only cover companionship, but also provides memory-enhancing activities to help promote cognitive health in the patient.
They also offer 24-hour care, which is geared towards bed-bound people and those who need mobility assistance.
Lastly, we loved how they offered extra services that you wouldn’t typically find in hospices like meal preparations, transportation, medication reminders and housekeeping.
Our only gripe with this provider is that its website can be hard to navigate, as it’s a bit outdated compared to other modern pages.
Pros
- Wide array of services
- Customised care plans
- Free care consultation
Cons
- Website can be hard to navigate
- Unresponsive at times
Care aides are professional and kind
“Home Instead has been fabulous for my 100-year-old father. They have been providing 24-hour care for him. The care aides have treated him very professionally and with kindness.
The aides also encourage Dad to do things independently whenever possible. The office always keeps us updated whenever there is a change in the schedule and when our father needs personal items.
All of the employees we have encountered have been friendly and willing to help make Dad and us happy.”

Their staff are compassionate, reliable and professional
“I have utilized the services of Home instead for the past five years, both when my mother lived with me and in a care home.
Their staff are compassionate, reliable and professional. I am very grateful to Home Instead for helping me to balance the complexities of my own life with those of caring for my mother. Well done, and all the best to you!”

Hero Home Care was an immediate candidate during our search because of its impressive selection of home care services. They offer everything from companion care to nursing care, but end-of-life care stands out.
With this service, they can provide nutritional support, bereavement support and loving companionship. We’re used to seeing death being treated as a taboo thing for these types of providers, so seeing this particular service made us further believe in their compassion.
Furthermore, we also loved their cooking and meal support services, as we know from experience just how hard to give nourishment to seniors. With this service, people can leave grocery shopping and cooking to the caregivers.
Of course, the only problem with having such a great set of services is the price point. If you can look past this, however, we can say with confidence that you’re money is well spent!
Pros
- Free care consultation
- Good variety of services
- Multiple locations across Canada
- 13+ years in the industry
Cons
- Pricey rates
Very impressed
“We needed some full-time care in the day for my 93 yo dad as his wife had to suddenly leave the country to take care of her sister for two weeks, I could stay in the house but had to work full time in the day.
She met with Hero Home Care on a Friday and a two-week schedule came together for the following two weeks. The challenge was it was made up of a variety of caregivers throughout that time but they were all excellent and professional.
They were given a detailed care plan so I could do a quick rundown and head out if they were new to the house.
My father is mostly housebound due to limited mobility and needs full-time care, he really enjoyed their company and I could go to work during the day and things were always in good order when I came back.
Very impressed with how they put together this team so quickly and the quality of the caregivers. If this happens again we know who to call.”

The care that is taken is phenomenal
“Hero Home Care has made life soo soo much easier for both my Mother and myself. We have been receiving help, for a good few months now, with bathing and taking care of my mother’s hygiene, a job she would not let me do.
The nurses also do light housework, in fact, if there is anything (within reason) they can help with it is done. This activity is done with caring and dignity which is much appreciated by both of us.
The care that is taken is phenomenal. I now because of the help, can have some time to myself. Seriously I just cannot imagine life without the understanding of both the nurses and the office staff.
Thank you so very much”

With a name like Just Like Family, we HAD to take a closer look at this home care provider, and thankfully we did! For starters, we discovered that they lived by a mission where they reinvest a percentage of their earnings back into providing quality care—an instant A+ in our books!
We also loved how they offered various types of care to cater to patients with different needs. A great example of this is their disability support services, which we thought was cool because they recognise that seniors aren’t the only ones who need close care.
On top of that, they also offer specialised care for people with different disabilities like ALS, Parkinson’s Alzheimers and more.
Another thing we loved about this provider is that they offered care outside of homes. For instance, seniors can go to a particular event with a caregiver so that they can enjoy their special day without worrying about walking, transportation, etc.
Pros
- Free in-home consultation
- Wide variety of services
- Outings
- Multiple locations across Canada
Cons
- Pricey rates
Really like family
“Just Like Family is really like family. We found all the staff we worked with to be caring and kind and very professional. Our care worker for my 88-year-old mom was wonderful. I would highly recommend their services if you are looking for in-home care for your parent.”
– Alanna W, Google Review
Beyond professional
“This is a wonderful company to work with. Lorraine is caring and compassionate and gets on any problem swiftly and accurately. The girl who cared for my husband was beyond professional.
She was funny, kind and caring and went out of her way many times to accommodate any unexpected needs. The girls have great work ethic and genuinely care for their clients. I would and I have recommended this service to many of my friends to care for their family members.
It was assuring for me to know my loved ones were in good hands and it alleviated a lot of stress for me. Thank you for everything!!”
