There’s no denying what hair, or lack thereof, can really do to give someone a distinct look. It might be the first thing we notice about people, from that blonde barista down the street or that guy with the afro in your office.

I’ve always found it kind of a shame that hair loss is something we tend to deal with throughout our lives. Like haircare, trying to mitigate hair loss can be an intimidating rabbit hole to dive into, much less start researching on your own.

On the bright side, there’s tons of hair loss treatments in Vancouver depending on what you want to address and how! I’ve been dealing with shedding recently, so I got some friends to help me do the rounds at various clinics and came up with these favorites.

How much does it cost to get hair loss treatment in Vancouver?

Getting hair loss treatments in Vancouver can set you back anywhere from $600 to $1200, depending on the kind of treatment you decide to book and any hair products involved in the procedure.

It’s hard not to think of Pacific Hair Loss Solutions when looking into hair loss treatments in Vancouver. The clinic got popular among locals as an easy starting point for hair replacements, so we just had to see why.

What we found surprised us, even given what we knew we were heading into. Pacific Hair Loss offers various hair systems and treatments, whether you’re looking into extensions or a fully installed hair system.

The clinic space itself was also clean and well-maintained on our visit. The waiting room was fairly relaxing, and we appreciated getting a glimpse of their hairpieces and haircare products on display.

While there, we got to chat with a few regulars coming in and heard good things! Many praised the consultations with staff. This helped customers determine whether they’d benefit from clip-ins, semi-permanent systems, or other treatments.

Now, a few regulars also mentioned that the initial installation for their hair systems could take quite a while. That being said, they also praised the material’s longevity, which made up for its long service life.

On that note, we also noticed that these hair systems and treatments did not come at a low price. We’d definitely recommend consulting with your doctor and the staff before moving forward with any of their hair loss treatments!

Pros

  • Clean and well-maintained clinic
  • Reliable longevity of hair pieces
  • Professional and informative consultations

Cons

  • Long installation and treatment times
  • Prices per service are on the higher side

Great job matching my hair color and styling

“The consultation and subsequent appointments were done in a private room. I felt that the associates consulting and doing the actual work were really there for me, not just doing a great job matching my hair color and styling to match my remaining hair.”

– Mr. William Carter, Google Review

Wanted to make sure all my questions were answered

“They provided a very discreet initial consultation in which I felt listened to and respected and not rushed at all. As a matter of fact they were concerned that it hadn’t taken long enough and wanted to make sure all my questions were answered.”

– Ms. Jodi Gray, Google Review

Did you know there’s a field of medicine specifically dedicated to the hair and scalp? It’s called trichology, and we only became aware of it once locals we asked about hair loss pointed us to the Deeply Rooted Hair Clinic.

The clinic was particularly popular among folks looking to understand their scalp and hair’s health on top of getting recommendations on what treatments to take.

We were pleased to find that the clinic provides its own treatments. A few customers we spoke with mentioned their personalized treatment plans, which covered various approaches, from topical treatments to low-level laser therapy.

The staff’s communication also came up often in conversation! Regulars were happy to share their advice during the consultation, even mentioning the clinic, and were willing to follow up on their hair growth and provide aftercare tips.

On the other hand, we noticed that the clinic was only open on a limited number of days each week, even compared to other hair loss clinics. This can make it pretty tricky to book an appointment, much less schedule a treatment.

One last word of advice customers left for us was to ask where the clinic sources some of its haircare products. Some of the products recommended during consultations and treatments were reportedly quite difficult to find here in Vancouver.

Pros

  • Reliable advice and recommendations for hair care
  • Personalized treatment plans available
  • Proactive communication from staff

Cons

  • Limited days open
  • Difficulty sourcing hair products

Very warm and easy to talk to

“My sister found Mandy for me! I was distraught about hair loss… Mandy was amazing. She spent so much time explaining everything to me. She’s very warm and easy to talk to, and extremely knowledgeable.”

– Ms. Katie Zielke, Google Review

I felt like I was in great hands

“Highly recommend. I had a consultation with Mandy recently after experiencing increased hair shedding. She was so thorough, I felt like I was in great hands. It’s obvious Mandy really cares about what she does.”

– Ms. Lisa Hopper, Google Review

If you’re looking into hair loss treatments that aren’t hair systems or anything too surgical, then scalp micropigmentation might be up your alley. Vancouver has no shortage of SMP clinics, but SMP by Rachel was quite the favorite among locals.

It wasn’t hard to see why. First off, we found the clinic pretty accessible. Their free consultations to determine whether SMP is right for you and which treatments suit your particular condition.

A few locals who pointed us their way were also happy to praise the clinic’s procedures, from their SMP service to their hairline tattoos. These were reportedly quite relaxing and painless, so nervous first-timers can rest easy.

Clients also praised the clinic’s attention to detail. The staff strove to match customers’ hairstyles, hairlines, and other details as accurately as possible. We didn’t even notice the spots SMP covered up on some folks we talked to before they pointed it out to us!

On the other hand, we heard that the SMP at the clinic could take a while to complete. We’d definitely recommend settling in with something to pass the time while you get your treatment done.

A few regulars also let us know that these treatments couldn’t always be completed in a single appointment, so we’d advise keeping your schedule open for future appointments to finish the service.

Pros

  • Relaxing and painless procedures
  • Free consultations at the clinic
  • Good attention to detail

Cons

  • May need multiple sessions to finish the service
  • Long treatment times

I’m so happy I decided to do it

“This was my first time ever getting female SMP to increase my hair “density” after having my daughter, and I’m so happy I decided to do it. Rachel is excellent. She’s warm, down to earth, and highly skilled.”

– Ms. Connie Ou, Google Review

The sessions were actually relaxing

“You can tell she’s an artist and a professional! At first I was a little hesitant as I didn’t know what to expect but after the whole experience, I wouldn’t hesitate to do it again. The sessions were actually relaxing, I dozed off a couple times.”

– Mr. Jeff Lam, Google Review

When you first hear about hair grafting and hair replacement, it’s kind of intimidating, right? Imagine our surprise when we asked around about non-surgical hair grafting and were pointed to duBrule Hair Restoration.

We were pleased by what we found on our visit. With offerings tailored towards hair restoration and even prevention, their treatments ranged from non-invasive laser treatment for hair loss prevention and growth to full hair grafts and systems.

The first thing to catch our attention about the service was how quick their communication was. They answered our inquiries quickly, and the customers we got to chat with mentioned their availability even on short notice.

We asked other regulars about the quality of their hair systems and were relieved to hear positive feedback. Their hairpieces were reportedly very comfortable, which is handy for customers who wear them for hours at a time!

That said, a few also mentioned that the longevity of these systems could still be improved. They need careful handling and washing every two to three weeks, unlike other hair pieces.

Customers also mentioned that the aftercare instructions for their hair pieces can be quite difficult to follow, so we’d definitely recommend asking the staff for advice and product recommendations if you do get a treatment from them.

Pros

  • Available even on short notice
  • Comfortable hair pieces
  • Upfront and informative consultations

Cons

  • Longevity of products and treatments can still be improved
  • Difficult aftercare for hair systems

Took their time and really understood

“IF you want the best, the best service, quality and price this is where you need to be. As a woman losing my hair made me insecure and embarrassed. Dubrules listened to me, took their time and really understood.

– Ms. Hana Harvey, Google Review

So completely breathable and natural feeling

“They are nothing like a typical toupee hairpiece. They use the most advanced technology and I dont even realize I’m wearing it. It is so completely breathable and natural feeling. I am just blown away.”

NuHair Medical Hair Transplant Centre’s offerings were surprisingly varied, offering both surgical and non-surgical hair loss treatments and allowing customers to book directly. These ranged from PRP hair regrowth and SMP to full, no-scar hair transplants.

Another factor that took us off guard was the pricing for their services. Hair loss treatments aren’t always cheap, so we were pleasantly surprised by how reasonable their estimates and quotes were for their treatments.

Customers also let us know about the quick and timely results of their treatments. Some reported seeing improvements as quickly as two to three months into their selected treatments!

That said, customers also mentioned that the commitment period for these procedures, whether non-surgical or otherwise, was quite long. We’d definitely advise getting a consultation first to determine whether their treatments fit your hair.

Customers mentioned having to wait a long time to schedule procedures, which can be a hassle if you need multiple sessions to complete the treatment. We’d recommend keeping in touch with the team to determine their schedule and availability, just in case!

Pros

  • Reasonable prices for hair transplants
  • Wide variety of hair treatment procedures
  • Quick and timely results

Cons

  • Long commitment period to the procedure
  • Long waiting time to get procedures scheduled

The hairline looks natural and has good growth

“Very happy with the four and a half-month results so far. The hairline looks natural and has good growth so far. I have had some positive feedback from friends, family and feel more self confident.”

– Mr. Chris Braven, Google Review

Would definitely do another surgery

“Today I went to get a preOp and the service was outstanding. They took good care of me. Fixed my hairline properly. Would definitely do another surgery with NuHair. They were patient with me and gave me fantastic results.”

– Mr. Mathieu Cupryk, Google Review
