My friend has been struggling with his thyroid for months. His endocrinology appointment was supposed to be a turning point but he shared how the doctor rushed through his concerns and seemed more focused on the clock.
His experience was a stark reminder that finding a good endocrinologist can be a daunting task, especially in a city as vast as Vancouver.
So, the rest of the Waterview Vancouver team and I pooled our collective knowledge, scoured reviews, and consulted with trusted medical professionals.
Here is who made it onto our list of the best.
How much does it cost to see an endocrinologist in Vancouver?
It costs at least 100 CAD to have an appointment with an endocrinologist in Vancouver.
This is just an estimate. The actual charge will depend on the doctor, and whether you require tests or procedures.Â

Operating Hours: Monday to Thursday – 8 AM to 12 PM & 1 PM to 4 PM
Dr. Marshall Dahl blends his deep knowledge of physiology with fellowship training and a truly patient-centered approach.
What stood out to us right away was how clearly he explained complex medical issues. He broke them down into terms that were easy to understand.
In our interactions, his respectful and kind demeanor really shone through. He treated us with genuine warmth, making us feel seen and heard—a quality that’s unfortunately not always a given in healthcare.
One area where Dr. Dahl particularly excels is hormonal therapy, especially when working with transgender patients. A few people shared how his compassionate and meticulous approach made a meaningful difference in their lives.
However, a few people pointed out the receptionist’s lack of friendliness at times. Let’s face it—this gesture makes the overall experience less welcoming.

Caring, thoughtful, and truly exceptional
“A wonderful, caring, thoughtful and intelligent doctor who is so dedicated to his patients. I had Dr. metzger as my endocrinologist for 18 years from age 1 to 18. Visits and checkups were so awesome with him. I attribute so much of my good health later in life to the education he gave me as a kid. The time he puts into his patients and the work he does is truly exceptional. The staff whenever I went made our whole family feel so comfortable and went out of their way to make sure we had all the knowledge we needed to maintain my diabetes in great control. Thanks Dr. Metzger, I’ll never forget you.
