Worst nightmare alert: it was 3 AM, and my precious pizza, the last bastion of my sanity, was frozen solid. And to make matters worse, my fridge began to sputter and whine, like a scene out of a B-horror movie.

When we called Pete’s Appliance Repair, the man behind it all, Pete, showed up himself. He was all about business, figuring out what was wrong super fast, and laying it all out for us in simple terms.
Not only did he have the parts to fix it on the spot, but he also got the fridge running smoothly again in less than an hour. And when it came to pricing, Pete was totally upfront—no surprises.
What really stood out was the personal vibe Pete brought to the table. He left us with some insider tips on keeping the fridge in good condition to avoid future breakdowns. Plus, Pete backs up his work with clear warranty options.
A heads-up, though: Pete’s a popular guy, so snagging a last-minute appointment might be tricky. And while he’s super responsive, be prepared to give him a ring to book a time—no online booking here, which might be a downside for some.
Pros
- Quick repairs
- Upfront pricing
- Clear warranty options
Cons
- Hard to get last minute appointments
- No online bookings

Appreciated Peter’s honesty and professionalism
“I called Peter in the morning when I discovered that my fridge was not working. I had several questions (after doing some googling) and he graciously gave me some pointers over the phone.
After attempting to fix the fridge with no luck, I called Peter back to come take a look at the fridge. Peter was timely and demonstrated true expertise. After a few minutes of looking at my fridge, he gave me the bad news that the fridge was not salvageable. I was already satisfied by the professionalism but Peter went the extra mile and asked if there was anything else he could take a look at as he finished with the fridge so quickly. Peter spent another 15-20 minutes looking at a leaky washer and was able to fix that as well! I appreciated Peter’s honesty and professionalism and would highly recommend his services.”

2. Vancouver Appliance Service Pros

Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday – 8 AM to 8 PM

When we tested Vancouver Appliance Service Pros (VASP) with a Samsung fridge glitch (it was turning food into ice cubes), we got a real glimpse of their service.
At first, it was a little difficult to get a hold of them after requesting an appointment online. While some people we talked to told us they had same-day service, we didn’t hear back until after a few days.
Either way, when their tech arrived, he didn’t waste time. He nailed the diagnosis—a rebellious thermostat was the culprit. They gave us a 90-day warranty on the fix, covering both parts and the work done, which eases customer anxiety.
He also made sure the fridge was back to being a fridge, not a freezer, before he left. But a little heads-up for the clean freaks: post-repair cleanup was a bit on the lighter side.
Pros
- Efficient and precise diagnosis
- 90-day warranty
Cons
- Hard to contact at first
- Post-repair cleanup can improve

3. Priority Appliance Service
Contact Details: +1 604-736-9897
Operating Hours: Monday to Friday – 8 AM to 4 PM
Website: Priority Appliance Service
When we heard mixed reviews about Priority Appliance Service, we decided to see for ourselves what the fuss was about. We sent in one of our reviewers with a KitchenAid French door fridge acting up—annoying buzzing and an unwelcome water leak.
The tech was on the dot, and it was clear from the get-go that they knew their way around a fridge. They pinpointed the issues in no time, breaking down the what and why of the fridge’s tantrums and how they’d fix them. True to their word, the repair was done quickly and cleanly, with everything left spotless post-service.
One thing that stood out to us was the warranty Priority Appliance Service slapped on their repairs. We also liked how they kept us in the loop from start to finish and didn’t dodge any of our queries.
Heads up, though: their service isn’t the cheapest in Vancouver, and their popularity means you might need to juggle your schedule to snag an appointment. But if reliability and top-notch work are what you’re after, they might be worth a call.
Pros
- Punctual technicians
- Clean workspace
- Warranty on repairs
Cons
- Not budget-friendly repairs
- Scheduling appointment hassles

4. Neptune Appliance & Refrigeration
Address: 2860 Kingsway, Vancouver BC
Contact Details: +1 604-218-5621
Operating Hours: Monday to Saturday – 7 AM to 9 PM
Website: Neptune Appliance & Refrigeration
When we asked around about Neptune Appliance & Refrigeration, many people told us they experienced speedy repairs done right the first time. So, we tested their repair services out using a GE Profile fridge with cooling issues and a lazy ice maker.
For starters, we had no problem booking an appointment with them. However, just a heads-up: if you’re hoping for a weekend fix, you might have to keep your cool until the weekdays. They seemed a bit tight on weekend bookings when we called.
Despite this, they had a technician heading our way just two days after we rang them up. Jerry (if we remembered the tech guy’s name correctly) was right on time, not a minute past our appointment time.
He took a look, told us what was up in a way we didn’t need a manual to understand, and bam—he had the parts ready to replace then and there.
Sure, we found Neptune’s prices a tad above the rest, but you’re paying for a hassle-free, one-and-done visit, so we reckon it’s worth the extra cash.
Pros
- Hassle-free appointment booking
- One-and-done visit
- On-time technician
Cons
- Limited weekend appointments
- Service costs a bit expensive

5. CanFix Appliance Repair
Contact Details: +1 604-729-5948
Operating Hours: Monday to Sunday – 6:30 AM to 9 PM
Website: CanFix Appliance Repair
From what we were told by former customers of CanFix Appliance Repair, if you’re staring down a fridge that’s more frost than fridge, CanFix may be a solid call.
We tested this for ourselves when we had CanFix Repairs check out for us a Whirlpool Bottom Freezer Refrigerator. It was acting up with an ice maker glitch and an unwelcome frost buildup.
To be honest, CanFix caught our attention with their quick scheduling – we got a slot the same week we called! The tech guy, John, was a breath of fresh air. He was friendly, nailed the diagnosis, and walked us through the repairs and potential costs without making our heads spin.
A couple of hiccups, though. We had to play the waiting game for a part they didn’t have on hand, which was a bummer. And, a shoutout from their team about the delay would have been nice instead of us having to chase them down for updates.
Pros
- Quick scheduling
- Friendly technician
- Competent diagnosis and repair
Cons
- Had to wait for a part
- Lacks proactive communication about delays
