One of my friends was set for a weekend hike along the Seawall. Out of nowhere, a sharp twist in her ankle turned her adventure into a limping shuffle back home.
Knowing our team loves digging into research, she asked me for recommendations for the best ankle doctors in Vancouver. So we got to work.
By checking patient feedback and treatment offerings, we put together the same list we’re sharing with you.
That way, if you ever find yourself in a similar situation (knock on wood), you’ll know exactly who to call to get back on your feet.
How much do ankle doctors in Vancouver charge for their services?
Ankle doctors in Vancouver typically charge $130–$165 for an initial podiatry consultation, with follow-ups around $70–$80. Private orthopaedic consults can cost $150–$350, and surgery or specialised treatments can run much higher.
1. Vancouver Foot and Ankle Clinic

Address: 3937 Knight St
Phone: +1 604-757-2558
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 9 AM – 5 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: Closed
Vancouver Foot and Ankle Clinic is led by Dr Alysha Patel and Dr Zuhair Ladha. From everything we looked at, we think their strength lies in how deep they go rather than how fast they move.
They do gait analysis, detailed assessments, and can run advanced imaging. It’s probably why they’re great at figuring out tricky ankle issues properly.
Patient feedback showed how persistent the team can be. A patient had an ankle injury so severe that multiple hospitals recommended amputation.
The clinic’s wider team didn’t accept that as the final answer. They kept pushing for an alternative. They even worked through experimental and highly complex options to give the patient a chance to walk again.
For more common problems, that same approach applies. They’re strong with ankle instability, bunions that affect how your ankle moves, sports injuries, and post-injury recovery.
That said, they’re not the cheapest option. Appointments and orthotics are priced at specialist levels. Their payment and cancellation policies can also be quite strict.
The most caring, friendly and proactive team
“The team at Vancouver Foot and Ankle have been the most caring, friendly and proactive team of medical professionals I have ever dealt with. I’ve had the (unfortunate) pleasure of seeing Dr.Patel many times due to an ongoing issue, and each time she makes me feel so welcomed, understood, and supported. Her bedside manner is unlike anyone I’ve seen before (in a good way!), and although I wish I wasn’t dealing with my medical situation, I’m SO thankful to have her as the doctor guiding me through it. I also saw Dr.Ladha once, and can confirm he’s just as wonderful. I’m continuously grateful that I found this clinic and booked in based on other positive reviews, so I wanted to share my experience and encourage others to come here if you’re in need of podiatric treatment.”

Vancouver Foot and Ankle Clinic has truly transformed my life
“Dr. Alysha Patel at the Vancouver Foot and Ankle Clinic has truly transformed my life. I was dealing with debilitating plantar fasciitis pain that made even simple tasks unbearable. Thanks to Dr. Patel’s expert care and a customized treatment plan, I’m not only pain-free but also able to fully participate in life again. I can now enjoy activities I love and, most importantly, play with my son without discomfort or limitations.”

2. Kitsilano Foot and Ankle Clinic: Sarah Urton, DPM

Address: 2184 W Broadway #425
Phone: +1 604-731-3431
Business hours:
- Monday to Tuesday: 9 AM – 4:30 PM
- Wednesday: 10 AM – 6 PM
- Thursday to Friday: 9 AM – 4:30 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: Closed
Kitsilano Foot and Ankle Clinic is the place people usually end up after they’ve already tried a few other options and their ankle pain still won’t quit.
It’s run by Dr Sarah Urton, and she really gets to the reason behind ongoing ankle issues. She often breaks down the ankle anatomy so patients actually understand the issue.
Her surgical experience is a big part of what sets the clinic apart.
Procedures like Morton’s neuroma removal and other foot surgeries come up often, especially from people who feel stuck after trying orthotics or injections elsewhere.
People also value her second opinions. There are cases of long-term ankle pain that hadn’t been properly figured out before, and finally got clear answers here.
Custom orthotics are a core part of their treatment plans. When they work, the results can be impressive. Someone even mentioned being pain-free after a few months of wearing them.
That said, this is also where most of the complaints come in. Several patients point out that the orthotics take about six weeks to arrive.
They’re also made using plaster casts instead of newer 3D scanning.
Thank you everyone at Kitsilano Foot and Ankle Clinic!
“After trying 3 other podiatrists who didn’t seem to really be that interested in working or educating, I found Dr W Urton! Although he has just as lengthy a career, he was willing to spend the time figuring out the exact problem and educating me on the physical reasons why I have forefoot/toe pain. He is kind, friendly, and thorough, and his daughter Sarah Urton and all the staff are the same. The $50 insoles just weren’t cutting it anymore and I now have orthotics. Hopefully back to two hour hikes soon! Thank you everyone at Kitsilano Foot and Ankle Clinic!”

Couldn’t be happier with the results and with my experience
“Sarah and her team are incredible. I’d been dealing with foot issues for years, but after moving to Vancouver and seeing Dr. Urton, I finally got the professional advice and treatment I’d needed all along. I had two foot surgeries done by her and they were 100% successful. Couldn’t be happier with the results and with my experience at Kitsilano Foot and Ankle Clinic, and would highly recommend them to anyone!”

3. Footbridge Centre for Integrated Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Care

Address: 181 Keefer Pl #221
Phone: +1 778-945-6756
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 7 AM – 7:30 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: Closed
Footbridge Centre has multiple foot and ankle surgeons on staff. This already puts them a step above general ortho clinics that only see ankles occasionally.
We loved that they cover everything from non-surgical care to complex deformity correction and total ankle replacements.
Here, everything’s integrated. Imaging, physiotherapists, and custom orthotics all sit under one roof.
Their CT scanner stands out in particular. It allows detailed 3D imaging while patients are standing naturally. This gives doctors a much clearer picture of how the ankle behaves under load.
Multiple patients also talked about surgical outcomes with Dr Velkovic. They said they felt supported, well-informed, and confident throughout long and complicated treatment journeys.
On the other hand, moving around the clinic can be frustrating. We experienced long walks from elevators, with patients noting that elevators are also sometimes broken. The imaging rooms are at the far end of the building too.
It can be exhausting for people already in pain or on crutches.
Dr. Veljkovic was extremely kind and understanding
“Dr. Veljkovic has literally given me a new lease on life. Prior to arriving at her clinic, I was unable to walk without experiencing severe ankle pain. As a result of a MVA that had occurred many years ago, I had a tibia and fibia which needed to be realigned and an ankle that needed to be replaced. The surgeries were complicated, but 5 years later, I am walking, playing sports, dancing and participating in all the things that I previously thought I would never do again. Dr. Veljkovic was extremely kind and understanding from the first minute I met her, through the several surgeries I experienced and continues to be as she provides ongoing care…”

She will look after you from beginning to end and even after that
“Dr. Andrea Veljokvic is amazing. I would highly recommend her to anyone with foot and ankle issues. She has great skills in the operation room, and a very nice bed side manner. She will look after you from beginning to end and even after that.”

4. Dr Scott Russell – Podiatry & Orthotics – Vancouver

Address: 1530 W 7th Ave
Phone: +1 604-739-5622
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 7:30 AM – 6 PM
- Saturday: 8 AM – 5 PM
- Sunday: Closed
With over 40 years of experience, it’s clear why a lot of people go to Dr Scott Russell for their ankle issues. He excels in non-invasive treatments, which are consistently praised in feedback.
He uses shockwave therapy, laser treatments, and integrated anti-inflammatory strategies to manage stubborn ankle pain without jumping straight to surgery.
His team’s custom ankle-foot orthotics also stand out. Unlike standard orthotics, these are tailored to specific activities, like running, skiing, and everyday walking. They’re also designed to fit any type of shoe.
The clinic’s connection with Seymour Health is a bonus too. It makes it easier to access physiotherapy, massage, and imaging in one place. It’s something that most standalone podiatry practices can’t offer.
That said, appointment times can be longer because it’s a part of a larger health centre.
Outstanding podiatrist!
“Outstanding podiatrist! I had a very painful issue with my foot that another doctor was unable to resolve. I had a consult with Dr. Russell and he treated my foot right then. I healed within a couple days and am pain-free for the first time in months! Thank you Dr. Russell! You are amazing!”

A really smart doctor
“Having suffered close to immobility because I kept losing any feeling in both my feet I finally went to Dr. Russell. After a short consult, Dr. Russell examined my foot, explained what the problem most likely was and treated it right then and there. I am so happy I am almost in shock! It took about three days for the treatment to take and I have not had a problem since! I look at it as a podiatry miracle and a really smart doctor!”

5. Kerrisdale Family Foot Clinic

Address: 2309 W 41st Ave 203 Suite 203
Phone: +1 604-261-2611
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM – 5 PM
- Saturday: 9 AM – 12 PM
- Sunday: Closed
Kerrisdale Family Foot Clinic is led by Dr Faiyaz Dedhar and handles a broad range of issues.
They know how to deal with ankle pain, plantar fasciitis, bunions, and more. Services include custom orthotics, gait assessments, diabetic foot care, and nail treatments.
When we spoke to patients, they really felt like they were taken good care of. They mentioned Dr Dedhar’s punctuality, thorough explanations, and practical foot care tips shared during appointments.
Although they still use traditional plaster cast moulding for orthotics, his patients said it produced better results than the standing scan methods used elsewhere.
Many patients return year after year for both full-length and half-shoe orthotics too, showing their effectiveness.
Convenience is another strong point. Saturday appointments accommodate working professionals who don’t have time during the weekdays.
Reception and communication appear to be weaker aspects, though. Some people noted that emails and calls can go unanswered sometimes.
Highly recommend!
“Highly recommend! Dr. Dedhar was thorough and helpful on my first visit to his office. His kind and caring demeanour put me at ease. He advised me on personal foot care, best shoes, exercises, and best practices going forward. I am so happy that I can keep walking my dog while being good to my feet. Thank you!”

Dr Dedhar provides excellent care
“Dr. Dedhar is always on time, provides excellent care and his clinic staff are also great. I’ve been going here for 4 years now and will keep coming back for my annual orthotics. I like the plaster cast moulding, it’s worked way better for orthotics than the scans done with standing that was done at other clinics. I have gotten both half shoe orthotics and full sole ones here and highly recommend Dr. Dedhar. Also he’s got some tips for foot care posted on his patient room wall that patients should know about foot care, which I’ve learned a lot from.”
