The Top 12 Yoga Studios in Vancouver for Beginners to Yogi Masters

In my first yoga class, I pretzed myself into what I thought was a downward-facing dog. Ok, I looked more like a confused dachshund.

Needless to say, I left feeling more defeated than zen. But that initial fumble didn’t extinguish my desire to experience the much-vaunted benefits of yoga—the flexibility, the stress relief, the inner peace.

Luckily, bullheadedness can pay off even in yoga. After attending my fair share of yoga classes throughout the city, I’ve become a pretty serious practitioner.

If you’re anything like me, curious about yoga but maybe a little inflexible, I’ve found all the best yoga studios in the city to help you get that inner zen. Here are all my top picks!

1. Nirvanami Yoga and Wellness

Her refreshing approach to yoga incorporates breathing exercises, meditation, and mindfulness practices to cultivate a sense of well-being that extends far beyond the yoga mat.

The best part is that you don’t need to be fit to participate. Whether you’re seeking an energizing morning flow, a deeply relaxing sound healing session, or the challenges of Kundalini yoga, you’ll get all your yoga needs at Nirvanami.

Pro Tip: Try one of Ami’s reiki chakra cleansings, yoga retreats, or even her private sound baths.
