The Top 5 Sleep Clinics in Vancouver to Wake Up Refreshed

sleep-clinics-in-vancouver
We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.

A few months ago, I had to endure my partner’s sleep apnea, which felt like sleeping next to a bear! After weeks of this torture, I finally broke down and told him he needed to go to a sleep clinic.

The “sleep study” was straight-up bizarre. They had him change into a scratchy hospital gown and was hooked up to what looked like a million wires.

Unsurprisingly, the “study” was a bust, and the doctor just told him to come back for another round.

I wanted to help my partner and others suffering from similar issues—whether you can’t sleep because of someone’s snoring or have actual sleep difficulties.

So, I enlisted the Waterview Vancouver team to compile a list of the top sleep clinics in the city. We reached out to various clinics and talked to former patients to ensure we only included the best of the best.

How much does it cost to get treatment at a sleep clinic in Vancouver?

It costs at least 500 CAD to get basic sleep therapy treatment at a sleep clinic in Vancouver.

The final cost will vary depending on the type of treatment, diagnostic testing, insurance coverage, and more.

How We Chose

Expertise: We looked for clinics staffed with certified sleep specialists, including pulmonologists, neurologists, and psychologists who have extensive training in sleep medicine.
Their qualifications and years of experience in diagnosing and treating sleep disorders were key factors for us.
Accreditation: We focused on clinics that are accredited by recognized organizations, such as the Canadian Sleep Society. This ensures they meet high standards for patient care and operate under strict guidelines.
Patient Testimonials: We listened to testimonials from real patients. We also focused on how clinics responded to concerns, treatment choices, and more.
Comprehensive Services: We prioritized clinics that offer a wide range of services, from initial evaluations and polysomnography (sleep studies) to ongoing treatment options like CPAP therapy

Snore MD checks in with me throughout the process

“Snore MD was great. At my first appointment they walked me through step by step how to use the machine. After a few days I had to return the mask that I was using during the trail period because it was hurting my nose and they helped me select a more comfortable mask. I found the softer, over the nose one much more comfortable. Snore MD sent texts checking in with me along the way. I have been sleeping better. I used to wake up multiple times a night and now I sleep through til morning. My husband who was sleeping with earplugs is sleeping better too because the machine has completely stopped my snoring! I bought the one with the humidifier which came in handy recently when I had a cold. I swear I got through my cold faster because I was using the CPAP. It helped clear my airways. Thank you to the staff at Snore MD for helping me get the much needed sleep I (and my husband) needed.”

Rebel Sleep Institute is a fantastic resource for anyone looking to improve their sleep health. Their commitment to sleep education is evident in their free fatigue awareness seminar, which we found to be a thoughtful initiative.

In this seminar, they teach you helpful tips on how to recognize fatigue and manage it, and they give advice on how to improve your overall sleep quality.

Several people we interviewed loved the option to have sleep apnea testing done at home. The process is completely non-invasive and painless, making it ideal for those who might be nervous about testing.

Furthermore, others who went through their psychological sleep and fatigue evaluation said it helped them uncover the root causes of their sleep challenges.

We found it refreshing to see a focus on not just the physical aspects of sleep but also on the mental and emotional factors that can contribute to fatigue.

For businesses, Rebel Sleep Institute offers a workplace sleep and fatigue program that provides employees with a sleep health treatment plan. We made sure to take notes on how we can better tackle fatigue in the workplace.

The only downside? We experienced a bit of a wait on the phone at times, but the quality of service more than made up for it

Pros

  • Free fatigue awareness seminar
  • At-home sleep apnea testing
  • Psychological sleep and fatigue evaluation
  • Workplace program for sleep health
  • Comprehensive approach to sleep wellness

Cons

  • Long wait times on the phone

I feel so much better

“Alan Stock was very helpful in getting me the right treatment for the type of sleep apnea I was diagnosed with. I could call him anytime and he would walk me through the process and answer any questions I had. He was also very encouraging with my success. Not long after I started treatment, I started to feel so much better. I am able to wake up in the morning and get right out of bed and feel completely rested. My energy levels are through the roof for the entire day. Thank you Alan and Rebel Sleep Institute.”

He does not rush the process

“Spoke with Alan and he was great.  You can tell this is his passion and he does not speak down to you but takes the time to explain everything to you and answer any questions you may have.  He does not rush the process and gives you as much time as you need.  I was shocked to find out I had a sleep issue since I sleep so well and Alan was able to explain reasons behind that and future issues without treatment.  Really appreciated his time.Would HIGHLY recommend”

Mainland Sleep Clinic offers a range of sleep apnea treatments, including the latest CPAP machines and travel-friendly options. They even have advanced BiPAP and ASV setups—types of ventilators that help people breathe by delivering air to the lungs.

We spoke with several patients who have been visiting the clinic for a while, and the consensus was clear: the staff is exceptional.

The sleep technicians are not only knowledgeable but also genuinely take the time to understand each patient’s unique needs.

Additionally, several people shared their experiences of undergoing thorough sleep studies that helped identify the root causes of their apnea issues.

Based on the results, the staff worked closely with them to find the ideal CPAP mask and pressure settings.

We also experienced the team’s helpfulness firsthand when we tested the clinic’s free CPAP trial. We tried everything from their comfortable pillows and nasal masks, making it easier for us to sleep through the night.

On the downside, a few patients mentioned that the front desk reception could be more courteous.

  • Comfortable CPAP equipment
  • Free CPAP trial

Cons

  • Rude front desk reception

If you’re struggling with sleep apnea, we highly recommend giving Coastal Sleep a try. They really have the process down to a science!

They provide a convenient take-home sleep monitor for diagnosis, which many customers have found incredibly helpful.

After experiencing the service ourselves, we appreciated how they guided us through the CPAP setup process. Their attention to detail ensured a perfect fit, maximizing both comfort and effectiveness.

What’s even better is that the support doesn’t stop there. They act as your personal CPAP coach, checking in regularly to help you adapt to the treatment.

Plus, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, eager to assist in finding the right gear.

In addition to their personalized support, their selection of CPAP equipment is impressive. Coastal Sleep carries the latest masks, machines, and accessories, allowing you to customize your setup to meet your specific needs.

One downside, however, is that getting an appointment can be a bit challenging.

Pros

  • Convenient take-home sleep monitor

Cons

  • Challenging appointment booking

Active in helping me manage my sleep health

“Very grateful to Andrew Malgaspe and Coastal Sleep for helping me treat my sleep conditions. Andrew was patient, compassionate, and active in helping me manage my sleep health. I valued Coastal Sleep’s wraparound service, helping me from intake, fulfillment of my prescription, and ongoing support. I am grateful my family doctor referred me to Coastal.”

Have received outstanding care

“I have had my CPAP machine for almost a year, and have received outstanding care from Pooja.  She keeps in touch in case I have issues, guides me on proper maintenance, and even exchanged a mask for a different format for free.  No questions asked.  You pay a little extra getting the equipment from Coastal Sleep, but the after care and Pooja backing up the masks more than makes up for the cost(which was mostly paid for by my insurance).”
