If you’re in the market for a strategic grain storage solution, Columbia Containers should be at the top of your list. We love their capacity to handle large-scale logistics.
They are particularly best for rail demurrage and bulk grain operations. With three cone-bottom silos (330 metric tonnes each) and three massive flat-bottom silos (3,400 metric tonnes each), their total storage exceeds 11,000 metric tonnes.
Several logistics managers raved that their capacity alone slashed their rail demurrage costs.
Customers also appreciate their depot services. They offer secure storage, container inspections, repairs, and inventory controls to help time-crunched businesses.
We also appreciate the transportation perks they offer, including free container delivery and single-vendor coordination. They can help many save time from scouting delivery vendors themselves.
That said, Columbia can be an overkill for those who need smaller storage volumes. If you’re not managing thousands of tonnes or rail logistics, their services won’t be the best solution for you.

Make Space Storage’s mobile storage containers are very convenient. The team delivers the container directly to your home or anywhere you want it, so you barely need to do anything.
Plus, the storage containers are flexible and designed to be on-the go. And they offer same-day delivery!
We also loved the near ground-level access of the containers because it simplifies loading. In fact, many customers told us they moved entire rooms without needing a single ramp.
If you need something waterproof, we recommend their heavy-duty steel containers and watertight doors. These containers keep moisture, dust and yes, even those annoying spider cobwebs out.
When we talked to customers, many pointed out the awesome security features of the containers. They have secure locks to keep your things safe, so you don’t have to worry about them.
However, Make Space is pretty inflexible when it comes to rental period. They require a minimum of 4-week rental period, so they may not be the best choice for those needing storage for less amount of time.

This level of honesty and customer service is appreciated by many we spoke to.
We also like that SpotBuy Containers has a fairly comprehensive range of sizes from 20-foot standard containers all the way up to 45-foot high cubes. Plus, they have less common shipping container sizes, such as a whole 40-feet standard / high cube.
The quality of their storage containers is very impressive too. Many said their SpotBuy unit was durable and held up against the rough winters.
That said, delivery of their containers is not included. Most who don’t have their own logistics sorted out find this very inconvenient.
However, we do think the option to haul the container free of charge to your trailer is a nice touch if you’re set up for that.

We also love that Cubeit’s storage containers are weather-resistant. Their containers use powder-coated steel, allowing them to resist wear and rust no matter how damp or rainy it gets.
Plus, their containers are sized to fit right in your own driveway. However, since they bring the container to you, their delivery truck might not fit if you have a tight driveway.
So, we suggest that you plan ahead to make sure you have enough space.
That aside, we love their double locking system. We think it’s a simple yet smart feature that provides real peace of mind. Many customers told us they feel comfortable locking up their container and leaving for weeks without any worry about theft.
The built-in steel hooks to tie down your items during transport are another thoughtful touch that we find not every storage container company provides.
