There’s a universal truth that one can never have too many shoes. I currently have 20 pairs in my closet (okay, maybe 21 if you count the ones I “borrowed” from my friend).
And yet, every time I walk past a shoe store, it’s as if my feet develop a mind of their own and drag me inside. But I’ve had my fair share of duds—like that one time I spent 20 minutes trying to get the attention of a sales associate.
So to save you from sore feet, I’ve rounded up the best shoe stores in Vancouver—the ones that actually make you want to come back for your next pair.
How much does it cost to buy shoes in Vancouver?
Buying a single pair of shoes in Vancouver costs at least 15 CAD. This price is just an average. The actual price will depend on the shoe store you go to, the type of shoe you buy, and whether there are any sales going on.
1. Australian Boot Company

Address: 137 Water St
Contact Details: +1 604-568-7710
Operating Hours:
- Saturday to Wednesday – 10 AM to 6 PM
- Thursday & Friday – 10 AM to 7 PM
Australian Boot Company is the kind of place you want to linger at if you love boots. Rows of Blundstones line the walls, from the classic rugged slip-ons to sleeker, dressier styles. There are even pint-sized versions for kids.
For those who want something a little more refined, the R.M. Williams boots are the kind of boots you buy once and wear for a decade.
What sets this place apart isn’t just the selection—it’s the way the staff actually listen. Shoppers appreciate that they’ll ask about your lifestyle and bring out boots that make sense for you, not just whatever is closest to the door.
There’s even a complimentary shine or leather conditioning for your current boots (if you’re wearing some).
Can’t make it in? The virtual fitting service is awesome. I sent a question about sizing and had a detailed reply in less than an hour.
Plus, I love that they offer you a cup of coffee as you browse.
The only hitch? Parking can be a bit of a headache, and you’ll have to pay for it.
They have excellent quality shoes
“I like to shout out to Australian Boot Company ~ not only do they have excellent quality shoes, their staff are awesome!! I brought a pair of boots from this location a couple of years ago, I wear it lots and loved it. Today, I walked by the store to ask for a refresher on how to care for the boots. They cleaned it for me and my boots are like new again!! One happy customer!”

One of the best boot shop experiences
“I don’t usually write reviews, but I had one of the best boot shop experiences at this location. A special thank you to Isabella for her outstanding service, especially when I returned on November 17 for a boot exchange. She was friendly, attentive, and ensured everything went smoothly. I’d also like to give another thanks to the staff member (I’m so sorry I forgot your name) who helped me choose the Blundstone dress black on October 26. He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout the entire process. I’m truly grateful for the experience and absolutely love my Blundstones! :)”

2. Hallux Natural Footwear + Endurance Provisions | Distance Runwear

Address: 4800 Main St
Contact Details: +16047376982
Operating Hours:
- Tuesday to Saturday – 10 AM to 6 PM
- Sunday – 12 PM to 4 PM
If you’re the type who’s logged more miles on foot than in a car, Hallux natural footwear is for you.
Here, the shoes aren’t just stacked by brand. They’re grouped by what you actually do: trail running, road running, and more.
What I also love is that the staff actually walk you through the options, explaining what works best for different materials and climates. They don’t push the priciest product, which I really appreciate.
Brand-wise, there’s a pretty good range. There’s Altra, which is famous for its roomy toe boxes and zero-drop soles. Then there’s Zeazoo, which makes adorable barefoot shoes for kids.
The shoe care selection is awesome too. Otter Wax, waterproofing sprays, cleaning gels—everything you need.
The best part is that most of their shoes come with a warranty that ranges from six months to two years, depending on the brand.
Don’t expect to find rows of ultra-cushioned or rigid stability here, though. Their selection really stands behind their philosophy of letting your feet do the work and building strength and balance with every step.
I found a new pair of running shoes
“What a great shop! I faffed about on Amazon trying different barefoot / minimalist shoes and could not find the right shoe. This shop has most of the big brands and I found a new pair of running shoes so I am very happy. The lady who served me was very knowledgeable. Thanks “

3. Foot Solutions Vancouver BC

Address: 2620 W Broadway
Contact Details: +1 604-267-7463
Operating Hours:
- Tuesday to Friday – 10 AM to 6 PM
- Saturday- 11 AM to 5 PM
If your feet or knees have started sending you not-so-subtle messages, Foot Solutions is where you should go. This isn’t your average shoe store; it’s more like a foot wellness clinic.
The whole experience starts with a foot and gait analysis. You’ll stand on a scanner while pressure points light up on the screen, turning your aches and pains into data you can actually see.
Customers appreciate that the staff go deeper than just measurements— they’ll ask about doctors’ notes, past injuries, and what your days look like. Conversations with the staff make it clear they’re not just interested in selling you a pair of insoles.
I also love that the custom orthotics are 3-D printed in-house, tailored for your unique feet. All right, I admit, the shoes themselves aren’t exactly trendy, but they’re far from the clunky orthopedic stereotype.
They’re practical and supportive. Most importantly, they’re chosen to help people move comfortably again.
Custom orthotics last and work wonder
“Excellent service and knowledge. Their custom orthotics last and work wonder for arch support . They are a must for my shoes and hikers and for our son’s work boots. After years of use, we got our second sets so that we don’t have to change them in between shoes or boots all the time. Very much recommended.”

4. Rowan Sky

Address: 334 W Cordova
Contact Details: +1 604-568-2075
Operating Hours:
- Tuesday to Thursday – 11 AM to 6 PM
- Friday & Saturday- 11 AM to 7 PM
- Sunday, Monday – 12 Noon to 5 PM
Rowan Sky is a spot you’ll want to come back to if you like handpicked shoes and accessories.
What stood out to me was the mix of brands. They carry labels like Alohas and Yuko Imanishi, which you don’t always see in other shoe stores.
There’s also a surprisingly sharp range of CSA-certified shoes. These have sturdy, reinforced toes and slip-resistant soles, but with a style upgrade from the usual workwear.
The women’s selection leans toward practicality without sacrificing design. The shelves are lined with sneakers that look nothing like gym shoes, and wedges you could actually walk a few blocks in without regretting it.
The only catch? The curated selection means you might not find every size or color in stock. Several shoppers had to wait a week or two for their sizes.
On the positive side, the staff are quick to place a special order.
They are also on top of shoe care here. You’ll find Otter Wax and Redwing, leather care products perfect for keeping your new favorites looking their best.
Super knowledgeable and attentive
“Picked up a pair of Red Wing boots and had such a fantastic experience. Super knowledgeable and attentive, taking the time to walk through the details of each boot. Thank you so much for the gracious and kind service.”

I really appreciate Amanda’s approach. She takes her time asking about where customers will wear their new shoes and what matters most to them— comfort, support, style, or all of the above.
If you’re between sizes, she’s quick to suggest alternatives or offer to order something that’s just right. You never feel rushed or pushed towards a pair that isn’t quite “you.”
The brand selection also obviously prioritizes practicality. You’ll find options from Birkenstock, Merrell, Hunter, and more. Many of their brands are known for comfort and durability, perfect for those who are on their feet a lot.
The only thing is, the selection isn’t massive. If you’re after a rare color or the latest limited-edition drop, you might not find it on the shelf.
But Amanda is always happy to place a special order, making sure you get exactly what you need, even if it takes a little longer.
Excellent guidance for picking out Birkenstocks
