Getting into a motor accident was one of those life-changing moments I’ll never forget. It wasn’t even my fault–I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
The shock after the crash was overwhelming, and then came the flood of paperwork, insurance calls, and legal stuff I knew nothing about. I’m pretty sure I would’ve lost my mind if my parents hadn’t already hired a personal injury lawyer.
Having a lawyer made all the difference. They knew exactly what needed to be done. It was a relief knowing someone was fighting for us while I could focus on healing.
So, if you ever find yourself in a similar situation, don’t worry! Our team has spent time scoping out Vancouver to find the best personal injury lawyers around. Keep reading to find out who’s got your back.
How much do personal injury lawyer services cost in Vancouver?
Personal injury lawyers in Vancouver typically work on a contingency basis, usually charging around 25% to 33% of the settlement or award. Some may charge up to 40% if the case goes to trial.
1. Preszler Law Firm

Address: 1075 W Georgia St Unit 825
Phone: +1 778-373-8202
Business hours:
- Monday to Sunday: Open 24 hours
We were really impressed by how many big wins Preszler Law Firm had. They’ve even helped set new legal rules in some cases, which isn’t something you see every day.
One thing that stood out to us was how client-focused they are. From what we heard from personal stories, clients actually get to talk to their lawyers directly instead of being passed around between assistants.
People mentioned lawyers like Nathaniel Hartney and Ming Viaje as being patient, caring, and proactive. In such a stressful situation, this can make all the difference.
We also liked that they offer services in multiple languages, like Mandarin, Hindi, and more. That’s really important in a place as diverse as Vancouver.
Another thing we thought was great is that they work on a contingency fee basis and offer free consultations. This means you can meet with them, understand your options, and you don’t have to pay anything unless they win your case.
That said, a few people mentioned that because they’re such a big and established firm, sometimes things can move a little slower than you’d hope. Still, their thoroughness and attention to detail are probably why they win as often as they do.
I was very satisfied with the outcome
“If you are in need of a personal injury lawyer, I would always recommend Preszler. Derek and his team made it as stress-free as possible during my own case. I was very satisfied with the outcome.”

They turned a difficult situation into a manageable journey
“I can’t thank Joseph and his team enough for the peace of mind they provided me throughout this process. If you’re in need of a personal injury lawyer who combines expertise with genuine care for their clients, I wholeheartedly recommend them. They turned a difficult situation into a manageable journey, and for that, I’m incredibly grateful”

2. Warnett Hallen LLP

Address: 720 Robson St 5th Floor
Phone: +1 604-737-3300
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 8 AM – 5 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: Closed
Warnett Hallen LLP focuses completely on personal injury cases—everything from car accidents and slip-and-falls to more complex cases like catastrophic injuries.
We liked how approachable everyone was. A lot of law firms can feel cold or intimidating, but they feel a lot more relaxed and personal.
They offer free consultations, which makes a huge difference when you’re already stressed out about an injury.
Another thing we appreciated is that they work on a contingency fee basis, so you only pay if they win your case. It takes a lot of the fear out of hiring a lawyer when you’re worried about costs.
The partners, Paul Warnett and Manjot Hallen, bring lots of experience too. They’ve handled thousands of cases and have even won the “Best Lawyer When Accident Strikes” award from The Georgia Straight four years in a row.
That said, we did wonder if their boutique size might mean they sometimes get stretched a little thin on really big or long-running cases due to their boutique size.
One client mentioned that their case took several years to finish (which isn’t necessarily entirely the firm’s fault), but it’s something to note if you’re hoping for a fast process.
I received the compensation I deserved for my injury
“My experience with Warnett Hallen LLP was very good. Thanks to their expertise, I received the compensation I deserved for my injury. I highly recommend to anyone in need of personal injury legal advice.”

3. Veale Law

Address: 1500 W Georgia St 13th floor
Phone: +1 604-685-2833
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM – 5 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: Closed
Our team checked out Veale Law, and even though it’s a small firm, we were really impressed. It’s run by Glenn Veale, who has been doing personal injury law full-time since 2003.
It’s just him and a few paralegals, but they really know what they’re doing. Glenn is especially good with Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) claims and motor vehicle accident cases.
We really liked how Glenn only represents injured people. He doesn’t represent insurance companies at all. It made us feel like he’s fully on his clients’ side, not just chasing big corporate money.
Clients say he’s really quick to get back to you and explains everything in a way that’s easy to follow, no confusing lawyer talk.
His fees are super reasonable. He charges a lower 20% on settlements and is flexible if the case is bigger or comes through a referral.
Best part? He doesn’t charge for phone calls, meetings, or letters, so you’re not stressing over every little thing adding up to your bill.
That said, because the firm is pretty small, you might wait a bit longer to book meetings or get updates. But honestly, most clients feel that the extra personal attention they get makes it worth it.
Grateful for Glenn’s professionalism and expertise
“I am grateful for Glenn’s professionalism and expertise. He worked hard to make sure I got my medical treatments taken care of and fair compensation for my injuries.”
-J. Winning, Google review
Professional and quick to respond to any messages
“I worked with Glenn for a case in the last 2 years, and I was so grateful I had him. He is professional, quick to respond to any messages and comprehensive on any questions we had. He tried so hard to get an extra dollar for us that I felt guilty for not being able to pay more for his service. We did end up with better-than-expected compensation after his hard work. We had Glenn to represent us because of the reviews on Google, so I’m now adding my name to the review for the good of others.”

4. Rice Harbut Elliott

Address: 980 Howe St Suite #820
Phone: +1 604-682-3771
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 9 AM – 5 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: Closed
One thing that stood out to us about Rice Harbut Elliott (RHE) is how they stick to personal injury and class actions.
A lot of their lawyers actually used to work for the defense side or were law clerks, so they know exactly how insurance companies think.
They’ve been involved in some pretty massive cases too, like getting the biggest punitive damages award for reckless driving injury in Canada. They’re not afraid to take on huge, complicated cases that most firms might shy away from, which is impressive.
We also talked to a few people who had gone through claims with them. One person said they never once had to chase RHE for updates because they were always on top of it.
Something we really liked is that they work on a contingency fee basis. It means you don’t pay unless they win for you. They also offer free consultations, which we think lowers the barrier for people who need help but are worried about upfront costs.
If we had to nitpick, it’s probably that because they mostly take on big cases, they might not be the right choice if you’ve got a smaller or really straightforward claim. They seem better suited for complicated stuff where there’s a lot at stake.
I would highly recommend them to anyone
“Jesse Kendall and the team at RHE are professional and really alleviated the stress that comes with having to deal with ICBC. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for professional, expert assistance in personal injury cases.”

Provided wonderful guidance and clear communication
“Michael and the team at RHE did a fantastic job with my personal injury case. They provided wonderful guidance and clear communication as we navigated the settlement process. I was extremely pleased with the outcome and commend them for all their efforts- would highly recommend them for any legal counsel needed.”

5. Holness and Small Law Group

Address: 808 Nelson St #507
Phone: +1 604-633-4878
Business hours:
- Monday to Friday: 9 AM – 5 PM
- Saturday to Sunday: Closed
Holness and Small Law Group is impressive because they have unique expertise in personal injury law, handling complex cases like brain and spinal cord injuries.
They’ve been around for over 20 years and have built a strong track record of success, including securing double costs for clients and receiving praise from Supreme Court judges. That’s not easy to do, so it shows they know what they’re doing.
One that impressed us is how Mr. Renn Holness, the founder, works closely with top neurosurgeons to give their clients the best possible advice on medical issues. It’s nice to see a lawyer who also takes into consideration the medical side of things.
We also appreciate that they only represent injured people. There are no insurance companies involved, so it means their loyalty is all to the client.
One client shared their experience working with Jacqueline Small, saying she was super professional and never rushed them into settling before they were ready.
They’ve also got a “No Fee Legal Protection Guarantee,” so you only pay if they win you compensation. Plus, their fees are clear, with written agreements and options depending on your case.
The only thing we’d point out is that a few clients mentioned they could have had a bit more frequent updates during their cases.
I felt assured and could focus on getting the treatment for my injury
“Jackie and her team have been amazing! Jackie is quick in responding to questions and is able to explain in great detail! With Jackie’s help in managing the case, I felt assured and could focus my attention on getting the right treatment for my injury. Thank you, Jackie!”

Their support gave me time and space to focus on my health
“I was injured in a life-changing MVA, had to be off work and attend many medical appointments. Thankfully, during this frustrating time, Renn and his team were so supportive, upfront, and patient while explaining complex legal and insurance processes. Their support gave me extra time and space to focus on my health, and I’d recommend them to loved ones who need the same kind of support.”
