Another thing we like about this clinic is how accommodating Dr. Rubano is. His bedside manner is calm and reassuring, helping patients feel comfortable and heard. This is honestly such a big deal, especially for anxious patients.

Dr. Scudamore’s skills and considerate manner are often praised. One story that stood out to us was when he performed no mesh repair to a patient’s inguinal hernia and used the patient’s own fascia to repair the tear. This is exactly what the patient asked for.
For us, this shows how attentive the surgeon is to patient concerns, taking the time to accommodate requests while still delivering effective surgery.
And speaking of effectiveness, patients noted that there’s only minimal tissue damage after their surgeries.
Apart from that, their communication is also something we want to highlight. They explain everything thoroughly – from diagnosis to post-surgical care. This helps patients feel confident and less anxious throughout.
Overall, they have a great service. Just expect longer wait times, as they carefully schedule each procedure to provide quality care. Rates are also a bit higher compared to other clinics.

Only ten days from diagnosis to surgery to repair my Inguinal Hernia. Dr. Scudamore and his team were amazing. The entire process with False Creek was a pleasant experience largely due to Dr. Scudamore’s ability to listen and understand my concerns, recovery objectives and how I wanted the surgery performed. Open surgery, no mesh, used my own fascia to repair the tear and he also took the time to tie off vessels rather then cauterization. Minimal tissue damage! Can’t say enough good things!”

The only area for improvement is patient experience outside of the operating room. Some patients note that he has this stiff vibe, which can appear to be unwelcoming for some.
