I think all pet owners can back me up when I say that ALL fur babies deserve the royal treatment. As much as I’m all for doing it yourself, taking them to the grooming shop regularly is the best way to maintain their nails, coat and overall health.
As a longtime pet owner, I know how we tend to shrug off going to the grooming shop at times because of financial issues, or sometimes, plain laziness! Fortunately, Vancouver houses amazing grooming shops that will force you to get up and treat your pets to their “spa day”.
To help paint a better picture, we’ve compiled some of the best grooming shops in Vancouver that are guaranteed to give you the best value for your money. Check them out!
How much do grooming shops cost in Vancouver? The cost of grooming services in Vancouver ranges between CAD55 to CAD300+. This price depends on the included services on the grooming packages and the size of the pet itself. |
How We Chose
1. Pupper Palace
Location: 4255 Fraser St, Vancouver, BC V5V 4G1, Canada
Contact: +1 672-514-2552
Business hours: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Right off the bat, we knew that Pupper Palace was the real deal when we saw that their groomers were fear-free certified. Without diving into it too much, this basically means that your pets will be at ease throughout the session, as the groomers will use behaviour-led strategies.
We were also impressed to see just how packed their grooming packages are, featuring everything from full-body haircuts to ear cleaning, pad tidying and more. Furthermore, they also offer a la carte services, which we can find handy if you don’t want to opt for a full groom.
Another thing that caught our attention was their creative grooming services, which let fur parents style their pets in creative ways like dyeing their hair, giving them mullets, etc.
They also offer a self-wash area where customers can do the grooming themselves by using the shop’s equipment.
The only downside about this place is that they only cater to dogs, forcing cat owners to look elsewhere for their grooming needs.
Pros
- Fear-free certified groomers
- Wide variety of services
- Reasonable prices
Cons
- Only caters to dogs
Highly recommend it for all dog grooming treatments
“Pupper Palace is my go-to dog groomer for my pups even though it’s an hour round trip to get there! Julie is fantastic! Her attention to detail and thorough grooming are fabulous with my dog Jack who is super floofy!
My dogs who can be quite nervous are very comfortable with Julie and she is gentle and patient! Highly recommend it for all dog grooming treatments. Be sure to book your appointment a few months out so you can get the spot you want as they are popular! Thank you, Julie”

They clearly understand dog behaviours well
“Absolutely the only place I trust with my nervous rescue dog. Other groomers have refused him due to attempts at biting, but this place welcomed him and has even had a lot of success grooming him without him biting at all.
They clearly understand dog behaviour well, and they have saved me since he’s a poodle mix type and needs grooming often. They are even able to cut his nails!! Really can’t recommend enough.”

2. Dashing Dawgs Vancouver
Location: 561 Cardero St, Vancouver, BC V6G 3L2, Canada
Contact: +1 604-568-6096
Business hours: Daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Dashing Dawgs is your no-frills grooming shop, featuring an impressive selection of services that are direct to the point. They offer complete packages that consist of hair trimming, nail cutting, baths, tidying and more.
They also offer a separate dental service, which we appreciate because they try to make it as comfortable as possible for the pets. For instance, they don’t use sedation because the only tools they use are hand scalers and toothbrushes
Dashing Dawg’s roster of dog groomers is impressive as well, as each staff specialises in different-sized dogs. We can see this resulting in a nice relationship between them and the pets, as they’ll always be the ones assigned to them.
We also love how they feature an in-house pet shop inside, so you can grab anything your fur baby may need before their next grooming session. Aside from grooming products, this store also offers a wide array of toys and treats.
Unfortunately, they only offer teeth-cleaning services for cats at the time of writing, and we hope they can add more services for our feline friends.
Pros
- Wide variety of dog-grooming services
- Features an in-house pet shop
- Professional and efficient dog groomers
Cons
- Only features teeth-cleaning services for cats
- Slightly-pricey rates
My pome Luca loves Yume!
“It’s been almost a year since we started to take Luca to Dashing Dawgs. My pome Luca loves Yume! The grooming day is the best day for him and I am so glad to see Luca happy and excited once he’s back at home!
Yume is incredible, I love how she treats him and definitely loved every groom that she did.
If you have a pomeranian and looking for a pome expert, I 100% recommend you to schedule with Yume.”

The whole staff was super friendly
“I took my puppy Husky Rio for a full both yesterday and couldn’t be more satisfied. The whole staff was super friendly and they did a great job with him! His fur was super soft, his nails and paw hair well trimmed and he was incredibly happy!
I unfortunately didn’t get the groomer’s name but he was super kind to us while I was there as well. Definitely recommend it!”

Business hours:

With a name like Woof & Meow Spa, we immediately knew that this grooming shop is inclusive, which is an instant A+ in our books. We were further impressed when we saw just how varied their services for each pet are.
For starters, they offer three different packages, namely: the full groom, bath and tidy, and luxury bath. Each of these services comes packed with inclusions such as pad shave, eye cleaning, full baths, nail trims, ear cleaning and more.
Furthermore, they also offer ala carte services if you feel like you don’t have to pay for the full grooming experience yet. These services include de-shedding, nail trimming, teeth and ear cleaning and more.
They also offer something called the Nagayu Treatment, which aims to immediately remove the stink from your pet’s fur and treat the coat to keep it healthy.
Our only gripe with this shop is its limited operating hours, which disappointed us because they’re only open four days a week.
Pros
- Wide array of services for both cats and dogs
- Reasonable prices
- Offers ala carte services
Cons
- Limited operating hours
- Can be difficult to book, especially during peak dates
Very happy with the results
“It’s my first time here for cat grooming and we are very happy with the results – it’s one of the best lion cuts we have gotten! They even put a cute bow tie on :).
Very friendly professional staff, check-in was a breeze and it didn’t take long at all. My cat even got creamy treats at the end.”

Can’t wait to bring him back for his next visit!
“First time taking my pup here for a wash and clean up. Pepperoni came back looking sooooo cute I was almost in tears. His bum and tail were clipped to perfection that it looked like he was wearing little pants.
My pup usually doesn’t like being touched in certain places so I was shocked to hear feedback that he was well-behaved. That shows their care and professionalism towards my pup. I can’t wait to bring him back for his next visit!”

They show the same level of service with their cats too, as they can provide your feline friends with ear cleaning, nail clipping, bathing and tidying, etc. Furthermore, it’s worth noting that they offer both their dog and cat grooming services in a la carte form.
We were also happy to see that they offer dental services, which take around an hour to complete. What made us impressed with this service, however, is their dedication to doing it gently, prioritising the comfort and state of mind of the pets.
One thing they could improve upon is their queueing system, as waiting times can take too long at times, reaching a couple of hours.
Pros
- 7+ years in the industry
- Caters both dog and cat owners
- Offers daycare services
Cons
- Long waiting times
Excellent customer service
“Very accommodating. I called in because my cat got a mouse glue trap stuck on him and they were able to schedule the appointment as soon as possible.
While I was removing the glue trap with some oil I ended up having to bathe him before the appointment and had to cancel but they were very understanding. Excellent customer service. Will definitely come back when my pets need a groom.”

Contact: +1 604-682-1899
Business hours:
- Tuesday to Friday: 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Ball and Biscuit Grooming is one of the go-to grooming spots for pawrents on the East Side, and we immediately got why when we saw their prices. This place charges some of the cheapest rates we’ve seen in any grooming shop in Vancouver, offering packages as low as CAD80.
What’s more impressive is that these packages don’t hold back on services, featuring everything from pad trimming to paw shaping, ear cleaning and more. They even offer a la carte services for customers who are looking for something cheaper.
One service of theirs that we love is their express bath, which is great for those times when you just want your pets to feel refreshed and come out looking brand new.
However, we hope that they can extend their operating hours anytime soon because they’re only open five days a week at the time of writing. Furthermore, we were saddened to discover that they don’t offer cat grooming services.
Pros
- Reasonable prices
- Great selection of dog grooming services
Cons
- Limited operating hours
- Only offer dog grooming services
Brillant and inexpensive!
“These folks were amazing. Our rescue shepherd had never had his nails cut and had some social anxiety. They suggested I leave the shop, at which point the dog went with them willingly. In less than 5 minutes the job was done. Brilliantly and inexpensive!”
-Anthony McIlveen, Google Review
They did a great job
“Came here for the first time with both of our 35lbs Labradoodles and they did a great job of grooming them. They were very communicative during the process and in the end, we were happy with the results. We will definitely be back! Thank you.”
