Finding a trustworthy oil change spot can be a real test of patience. So, once I got back in Vancouver, I recruited the rest of the Waterview Vancouver Magazine writing team to help me find the places that do oil changes right.
Because when it comes to your car, you deserve service that’s quick, honest, and doesn’t leave you stranded on the side of the road. Here’s who made our cut.
How much does it cost to get an oil change in Vancouver?
It costs at least 50 CAD to get a basic oil change in Vancouver. This is just an estimate. The final price will depend on the type of oil change you get, the vehicle and more.

Jiffy Lube is ideal if you want a quick, affordable oil change. We found their no-appointment policy really convenient for busy drivers.
Plus, their frequent online coupons (we spotted one for $10 off!) make regular maintenance a little easier on your wallet.
It’s reassuring that they always use manufacturer-approved products and follow your car’s service guidelines, so your warranty stays safe. They also offer a full range of oil options, including conventional, high-mileage, synthetic blend, and full synthetic.
Another thing we love is their use of Pennzoil. This brand is well-known for improving engine protection and fuel efficiency, especially in harsh driving conditions. It’s a nice upgrade for those who really care about quality and never want to cut corners.
Customers appreciate that every oil change comes with a complimentary 20-point visual inspection, which includes a coolant check.
And if you’re in a hurry, their techs can have you in and out in as little as 15 minutes.
That said, their front desk service is hit or miss—sometimes the receptionist barely looks up and can come off as a bit rude.

Mr. Lube + Tires is perfect if you want a fast, hassle-free oil change. There’s no need to book ahead and worry about a waitlist—just drive in, get it done, and you’re back on the road.
They offer three different oil change options: standard for older or low-mileage cars, synthetic for newer vehicles, and diesel. It’s a straightforward range that covers essentials.
When we talked to customers, many highlighted the professionalism of Mr. Lube’s certified technicians. They handle everything and explain the oil change process beforehand. Service is quick too—usually under 30 minutes.
We appreciate that customers get a free courtesy check every time, which includes a car inspection and car care tips. It’s a nice bonus that helps you stay on top of maintenance and gives peace of mind that nothing crucial is overlooked.
However, there is one thing to keep an eye on: they occasionally overfill the oil tank. It may seem minor, but it can interfere with your sensors or even cause leaks, so it’s worth double-checking before you leave.

Everbloom Auto Repair is the go-to if you care about your car’s long-term health and want a full checkup every visit. It’s perfect for drivers who’d rather get everything looked at in one stop, instead of piecemealing maintenance over multiple appointments.
We like how meticulous Everbloom technicians are. They use high-quality oils and manufacturer-approved filters, and their technicians are thorough and transparent.
Customers consistently mention how staff take time to show them the old filter and explain why it needed replacing, which really builds trust.
Several people also noticed their engines ran smoother and quieter after service.
Their maintenance package offers great value too. It goes beyond just an oil change, including engine tune-up, brake inspection and maintenance, and fluid level checks. You also get tire pressure and tread check, battery health test, and more.
That said, Everbloom isn’t set up for walk-ins—you need an appointment. And since the oil change is bundled into their full maintenance package, you can’t just pop in for a quick oil change alone.

4. instaMek Mobile Mechanic & Inspections

InstaMek is a dream for anyone who wants to skip the hassle of driving to a shop. As a mobile auto shop, they send a certified mechanic right to your home or office, making car maintenance far more convenient.
Their mechanic stands out too. They show up on time and are super friendly and knowledgeable. They explain what they’re doing, which somewhat adds a personal touch to the service.
Although you can’t just get an oil change on its own, they have packages that come with a 12-month/20,000 km warranty on parts and labour. This adds real value for long-term care.
We especially like their new customer package. It covers everything from a 6L conventional oil change (with synthetic available for extra) and tire rotation or swap to brake and brake line inspections. It even includes fluid checks and top-ups too.
They are thorough and include all the essentials to keep your car running smoothly and safely.
The main downside here is the service fee, which ranges from $10 to $30 depending on your location. While it’s not unreasonable for the convenience offered, it’s still something to factor into your budget.

Midas is a great fit if you want a thorough, appointment-based oil change and value a detailed checkup. It’s perfect for drivers who like to stay ahead of repairs and appreciate a little extra transparency.
What sets Midas apart is that every oil change includes their complimentary Midas Closer Look Vehicle Check. A certified tech gives your car a comprehensive visual inspection—inside, outside, under the hood, and underneath.
We like that they actually show you the results, so you know exactly what’s going on and can plan ahead for any needed repairs.
You can choose from conventional, synthetic, or high mileage oils, so there’s something for every car and budget. If you go for the Oil Change Plus, you’ll also get a tire rotation, which is a nice bonus—just budget about 15 extra minutes.
But if you’re in a hurry or prefer to handle car stuff on the fly, this might not be the most convenient choice. Midas oil changes can take about an hour.
