The 5 Best Computer Repair Shops in Vancouver for Fast and Reliable Fixes

computer-repair-shops-in-vancouver
We extensively test and research all services we review. Here's why you can trust us.
  • Service Range: We chose repair shops that offer a broad range of services, like hardware repairs, software troubleshooting, virus removal, and more.
  • Turnaround Time: We considered how quickly each shop could complete common repairs. We prioritized those that offer same-day or next-day service whenever possible.
  • Communication: We looked at how clearly and promptly shops communicate with their customers. We spoke to customers to see if they were updated on repair status or if the staff explained the issues clearly.
  • Pricing: We selected shops with transparent pricing structures, fair rates, and no hidden fees.

Every time I go online, I expect to see ads. It’s just part of the internet now. Most are creepily accurate, thanks to all those digital footprints. But sometimes, something feels off—like pop-ups appearing when I’m not browsing, or ads that just won’t close.

That’s when I knew something wasn’t right, a virus had entered my computer. It’s frustrating, especially since I rely on my computer for work. So whenever this happens, I head straight to a trusted computer repair shop.

If you’re dealing with the same headache and don’t know where to turn to, I got you. My team and I have researched and found some of the best computer repair shops in Vancouver. These are reliable, fast, and definitely worth your time.

How much do computer repair services cost in Vancouver?

Computer repair services in Vancouver can cost $60 to $150 per hour, depending on the issue and the technician’s experience. Flat rates for common services (like virus removal or screen replacement) may range from $80 to $200.

1. Tech in a Tux

Business hours:

  • Monday to Tuesday: 10 AM – 10 PM
  • Wednesday: Closed
  • Thursday to Saturday: 10 AM – 10 PM

One of the unique things we’ve found about Tech in a Tux is the Pay What You Can system. Instead of giving you a set price for his service, Alejandro, who runs the business, lets you decide how much to pay based on what you can afford.

At first, we weren’t sure how that would work, but after hearing from people who’ve used his service, it seems to be built on trust and a genuine desire to help.

We were also impressed that Alejandro doesn’t just fix broken computers. He can help with all sorts of tech needs, like removing viruses, speeding up slow computers, to building custom PCs from scratch.

On top of that, he offers both remote and in-person IT support, depending on what’s convenient for you. Some people even told us he designs websites and helps businesses show up better in Google searches.

One business owner we spoke to said that Alejandro didn’t just fix their network issues, but also offered clear advice on how to improve their site’s visibility online.

That’s part of what makes the business feel more like a full-service digital partner than just a repair shop.

Alejandro seems to handle it all himself, and people say he’s fast, skilled, and super easy to talk to. They really liked that he was friendly and took the time to explain things clearly instead of rushing through the job.

The only thing we think is worth pointing out is that since it’s mostly just him running the show, it might take a little longer to get an appointment if he’s really busy.

Even though the service itself is usually finished in a day, he can get booked up fast. It’s a good idea to reach out early if you need help soon.

Pros

  • Pay What You Can system
  • Wide range of service
  • Also does website design and SEO
  • Provides remote and in-person support
  • Fast turnaround
  • Friendly
  • Explain things clearly

Cons

  • Can get booked up quickly

He will also do his best to help you with any problems you have

“Tech in a Tux is an absolute lifesaver. Not only is he a super kind and honest guy, but he will also do his best to help you with any problems you have! I had a software corruption, and not only was he able to fix it, but he was also able to optimize my pc to levels I didn’t even know it could do!”

He responded the same day and attended to my issue right away

“I had one of the best experiences I have ever had dealing with Alejandro. I had an issue with my PC, and he was my first choice as he was highly recommended by my friends. He responded the same day and attended to my issue right away. Even though we could not figure it out on the first attempt, he didn’t just leave it, we communicated until we figured it out. He is super attentive, communicative, knowledgeable and kind. Would highly recommend him!”

2. VCV Computers

Address: 888 Commercial Dr

Phone: +1 604-251-4737
Business hours:

  • Monday to Friday: 10 AM – 6:30 PM
  • Saturday: 10 AM – 5:30 PM
  • Sunday: Closed

Website

VCV Computers impressed us with their technical knowledge. It’s probably because they’re certified technicians who stay up to date with ongoing training.

Their ball grid array (BGA) rework station makes them unique. It allows them to fix complex motherboard issues like reballing and chip replacement.

Usually, when a motherboard fails, many places either say it’s unrepairable or suggest buying a new device. But they always attempt to repair it, which we appreciate.

We also heard great things about their speed and free diagnostics. One person expected to wait a day or two but got a call within two hours saying their laptop was already fixed.

That said, we also heard from someone that they were charged even though their laptop couldn’t be fixed.

Turns out, the fee was for the diagnostics. It’s a good reminder to ask what “free diagnostics” actually includes. Some shops only waive the fee if you proceed with repairs, while others charge regardless.

We also came across other people commenting that their pricing might feel a bit high for small jobs. But you have to remember that you’re often paying for a higher level of expertise.

On the brighter side, we liked that they’re not limited to just computers. They also repair phones and tablets, which is convenient if you’re juggling multiple devices.

That said, we did feel they could do a better job at communicating some of their policies. It’d be cool if they could clearly explain when diagnostic fees kick in or how complex repairs are priced.

Pros

  • Highly skilled technicians
  • Advanced repair capabilities
  • Repair-first approach
  • Fast turnaround
  • Multi-device support

Cons

  • Unclear diagnostic fee policy
  • A few reports about higher pricing for minor jobs

Fixed my computer within 24 hours

“Fixed my computer within 24 hours, and charged a fair price for it. Even offered to recycle the broken parts for me. Called me twice to let me know the progress of my computer, which was nice.”

-Gary, Google review

Super friendly and quick service

“Had a broken charger port. Emailed a few places and was told it would take nearly a week to finish. James finished replacing the charger port on my HP laptop the next day. Super friendly and quick service. Highly recommended.”

3. The Hackery

the-hackery

Address: 304 Victoria Dr

Phone: +1 778-373-8295
Business hours:

  • Monday: Closed
  • Tuesday to Saturday: 11 AM – 6 PM
  • Sunday: Closed

Website

We really like The Hackery’s ability to do component-level repairs. Most repair shops don’t do micro-soldering or chip repairs, but they do, and they do it well.

One customer we came across had a vintage Mac revived by them. He said they’re the only repair shop that was up to the challenge.

They’ve been around since 2008, so that might explain their knowledge on this complicated stuff. Even with all that experience, they don’t overwhelm you with tech jargon or push extensive repairs.

Instead, they clearly explain what’s wrong, what your options are, and whether it’s even worth fixing.

Their commitment to the environment is another big plus. They handle a huge amount of e-waste, recycle properly, and reuse parts when possible. They’ll even pick up large or bulky items for free, which we appreciate.

That said, they aren’t the fastest or cheapest. While turnaround for diagnostics is usually within 24 hours, some complex component repairs can take longer.

Also, because they use quality parts, they’re not undercutting prices like shops that rely on cheap mass-produced replacements.

You’re paying for expertise and environmental responsibility. It might not be ideal if you’re just looking for the cheapest fix possible.

Pros

  • Component-level repairs
  • Over 15 years of experience
  • Revives vintage devices
  • Clear communication
  • Offers repair options
  • Environmental commitment

Cons

  • Component repairs take a longer turnaround time
  • Not the cheapest

Within 48 hours, they had it as good as new

“Fantastic service. I had spilt hot tea on my laptop, and had brought it to another repair centre, where they had said it was a hopeless case and I may as well buy a new one. I brought it here, and within 48 hours, they had it as good as new. And they called me partway through to update me on their investigation. I was very pleased. An expensive mistake in the end, but certainly much cheaper than buying a new laptop.”

-Vlad Krakov, Google review

My computer is running perfectly now

“Would highly recommend! I had a problem with my Windows 11 bootable USB, so I spoke to a few places to help with no luck. I then found The Hackery on maps, called and spoke to Curtis who was super helpful in understanding my issue and was able to assist me in fixing my problem. Will be going back to them with any computer-related issues. Thank you, Curtis and the team, my computer is running perfectly now!”

4. Chung Repairs

chung-repairs

Address: 779 E 51st Ave

Phone: +1 778-899-0417
Business hours:

  • Monday to Sunday: 9 AM – 10 PM

Website

Chung Repairs is best known for Macbook repairs, but it also offers services for Windows laptops, data backups, and even drive installations.

The business is run solely by Mr. Chung, and he works strictly by appointment only. It makes sense given it’s a one-person operation.

If you’re used to walking into a repair shop, this will feel a bit different. You’ll need to plan ahead and likely communicate by texting to arrange a time.

That said, customers really value how responsive and flexible Mr. Chung is. He replies to messages quickly and even helps over the phone when possible, which not every repair place does.

It also stood out to us how transparent and fair his pricing is. The diagnostics fee is $30, and the other services are clearly laid out on the website. There’s no vague “call us for a quote” nonsense. It’s actually refreshing from all the other shops we’ve looked into.

Mr. Chung’s former clients also mentioned his honesty. Someone was quoted $380 for a repair, but once he had a look, it turned out to be a smaller issue, and he only charged $50. That kind of integrity isn’t common, and we deeply appreciate that.

That said, because he’s working solo, there could be occasional delays in getting an appointment. We didn’t see complaints about turnaround time, but if you’re in a hurry, it’s something to consider.

Pros

  • Specializes in MacBook repairs
  • Pricing is clearly listed on the website
  • Honest service
  • Responsive communication
  • Clear explanations and options
  • No hidden fees

Cons

  • Appointment only
  • Potential for delays in getting an appointment

We got a really good deal for getting the repairs done

“Mr Chung repaired my friend’s 2020 MacBook Air. His screen was broken, and I took it to Chung Repairs, and we got a really good deal for getting the repairs done compared to everyone else that I called; they were double, some were triple the cost. Mr Chung is very efficient with his work and does everything on time. I am definitely impressed with his service, will recommend this guy to my family and friends. Thank you for doing a great job. See you again for more clients.”

-Nilam Kang, Google review

Very thankful for his efficiency and knowledge

“Chung was able to provide me with an over-the-phone consultation and quote for my damaged MacBook Air screen, which was significantly lower than what London Drugs and Apple had quoted. I was able to drop off my laptop that same day, and Chung got it back to me in less than 2 days, fully fixed! Very thankful for his efficiency and knowledge.”

Trek PC really impressed us with how fast they work. For things like hard drive replacements or RAM upgrades, they can often finish the job the same day. It’s a big deal, especially since most shops take several days just to get back to you.

We also like that they offer free diagnostics. A lot of places charge just to check your device and tell you what’s wrong, but they don’t.

Another thing we noticed is how skilled their team is. They fix everything from MacBooks and Microsoft Surface devices to all the major PC brands like Dell and HP.

We’ve also appreciated hearing from a customer who said the team didn’t just repair their laptop and send them on their way.

Instead, they took the time to make sure everything was running smoothly and even invited the customer to test it out in-store before leaving. That extra care stood out to us.

They also use real, original parts, not the cheap generic ones. Some customers mentioned that their devices kept performing well after the repair and even stayed under warranty.

On top of that, they back their work with a 1-year warranty. It’s way better than the 30 or 90-day warranties most other shops offer.

This also explains why their prices are a bit higher than other shops. But when you think about it, considering the free diagnosis, good service, and warranty, it’s only fair.

Pros

  • Fast turnaround
  • Free diagnostics
  • Wide expertise
  • Excellent customer care
  • High-quality original parts
  • Strong warranty

Cons

  • Higher prices

Couldn’t be happier with the service!

“Recently used PC Trek for some computer services, and couldn’t be happier with the service, the speed and the work that Sam and OJ did. Extremely satisfied and will use them again when the need arises.”

-Duncan Robertson, Google review

Great service, kept me updated on their progress

“I first took my desktop to Trek PC/Phone Guru to troubleshoot/service, and recently I had my laptop RAM upgraded. Great service, worked with me to send estimates and invoice my employer directly, and kept me updated on their progress. Prices are on par, and the Tsawwassen location is convenient. Thank you!”
